Crackhouses, liquor stores, bars, etc. fall under the category of "Drug Store" in CTP. All attempt to relieve the "pain" (mental or physical) in some way or other, legally or otherwise. (The illegal kind combines with the "Crime" factor in CTP.) I'm not sure about the 25% effect on Production though.

That was actually Faded Glory's invention - think Don was the first, who got a little chocked in the game Monkey2, when Faded let his spies make those big "noices". Guess no-one in that game expected to see anymore pollution due to nukeattacks after the nuke-unit had gone obsolute.

And while we were talking about spies and Don. A year ago or so, I did not consider spies as a really powerfull unit - but in Monkey1, Don pushed a spy on me and got a newly conquered city (with most of my attackforce (tanks) in and just outside the city) revolting. That stopped me - just like someone closed a door into your face. Bang!

Those two expiriences gave me a somewhat different look at the little men in black coats......

Spies, cyber spies wonderful little stealth, chaos, death and destruction units. Nice to see someone else picking up on special units.

Grab an army of them load a few space planes drop em off in a secluded enemy zone. Great first strike units or a great way to slow your enemy down. Toss in some infectors, lawyers and corps and you have created one messed up civ. :0)

How to deal with nukewars in the postmodern time.

Learned this from my game with Hatchy - when making nukeattacks, go for the wondercities of your enemy first, second go for the most polluting cities. After nuking them, take them. When retaken (your enemy would normally try to do so), the city is annihilated and the wonder gone with it. Alternative - if you want to be sure the wonder(s) is/are gone for ever - disband the city.

Ohhh, remember to sell the best improvement in the city before you end your turn.

Sorry Math for what I just did to you.

(though I am a happy dictator ) - I do feel with you. I lost both Edison Lab and my global eye - then 6 of my most productive/science cities when Hatchy gave me a lesson in how to wage nukewars.

And I have still not revealed everything - this info is for those using subs/bombers/stealthbombers to carry the nukes forward (as I did when I started to use the nukes). There are other alternatives - much more effective.

Put the nuke "to sleep" in either an airport or a city where you have the bomber waiting for cargo.

Tired of ads?

No it does not until you unload it.

To add to Birdy's lesson why take the city? It adds to your pollution plus the nuke pollution adds up to civ chaos, not always but beware.

If you nuke a city twice it is gone, usually. So if you load a few space planes with nukes and a few with marines and a nuke you can do irreversable damage to someone's civ.

TNT game got like that, picture this 5 space planes two with 4 nukes each and a marine each three loaded with 2 nukes and three marines. (Or more)

Ok you have located the wonder cities drop your space fighters in for the AA, then drop your space planes in and wipe out the wonder cities. Then you drop in more space fighters at major polluters or major production, trade etc cities.

Now you nuke once and move in the marines that's 10 major cities wiped out or taken over. If the nukes do not bring down the cities you have the spare marine in each of the 2 nukes space planes to take the cities that do not go down. Once in yup sell off the major good and wipe out the city when it is advantagious to you to do so.

So to take account the enemy has lost thier wonders, production cities, trade cities etc. It is quite devastating and from the few times I have seen this they are short in the game.

This works really well if in fact the player grouped his cities close together like dare we say it the rabbit strategy.

This strategy is best servered up with three waves of five. So each of three turns five identical attacks.
Oh ya the world takes a beating but! Thats a potential of 30 cities gone.....

Keep in mind pollution ratings drop after 3-5 turns or so, so you could space these attacks based on that average. By doing that the over all pollution hit remains steady but not world breaking.

I will also add keep a space fighter in the area at all times to see major troop movements. You could just drop in from time to time to nuke his advance to your new found cities. Your enemy takes another beating trying to keep his assualt going..

Now if you combine this with the space planes full of spies and special units like lawyers etc well you figure it out

Cost to you a few units and a pollution hit, no biggy.

To load anything in this game put the "thing" to sleep in a city, then put the "carrier" in the same city. When ever the "carrier" leaves the city it will take the "thing" with it.

does a space fighter "left" (sentried) in space take up any fuel ? means, can it remain there until it moves and uses up fuel ?

now this may seem trivial to most players, but i find it worth mentioning that a unit can enter (and conquer) an undefended enemy city directly from a ship, whereas it cannot attack a defended city from the ship.
