	Why Gay Olympics?? Increase Your PM Length

Ok, I'm tired of this. And maybe Mr.fun will be able to answer me.

First off, I'm NOT homophobic and I have nothing against gay poeple. But somethings really bother me like those stupid "Gay Olympics". WTF is up with that? Why do gay ppl have their own olympics? How does being gay alter your physical abilities? In no freakin way! So why does it exists?
That's how I see it, if you qualify, you go to the REAL olympics but if you suck and by anychance you're gay you can qualify for gay olympics? Why? Please dont tell me this is for "the equality of rights" between heteros and gays because if you ask me that only helps in segregating them.
It's not because you're gay that you jump farther or not. It's a physical ability you're born with even if you're gay or not.
And what about all those parades you gays have. Why? For us heteros to see you on the street parading and say:" Hey, there are those different ppl parading again." Why dont you just act like evrybody else and mix yourself up with us instead of helping the Segregation again.
I totaly agree on gay rights just like women rights. By that I mean that you should have the same job opportunities, same salary, right of marage, etc....All these "normal" things. But gay olympics? PLEASE! That's just helps society make clans of gay ppl and hetero ppl, it helps socirty seperate us and put one of the 2 aside.

If any gays are offended I'm sorry, that wasn't intended.

I've never heard of this before, but maybe they should change the name of the competition so they don't imply that it's a variation on the olympics. Since, as far as I know, the olympics do not disciminate.

That has ABSOLUTLY nothing to do with it. If you go in china, maybe there are shows like General hospital and sh*t like that for you white guys. And besides other races speak in different langages so TV shows of their culture is understandable. And there are gay ppl of all races but the difference between them and heteros is where they put their D|ck. So how should that influence your physical ability to jump or run or whatever?

Its actually the same with many things.
Like should we have olympics for blond ppl.
Or for ppl with a crooked nose?
It may seem like it helps the gay cause, but having a special olympics IS discrimination.
Discrimination is when u differentiate beetween things for reasons you shouldnt.
Physical performance because of sexual orientation for example.
When ppl dont actually care that ure gay just like they dont care that u have this or that shade of hair, then they gay ppl will have won their fight, and things like these olympics actually stand in their way.

I'm a reasonably open person but Gay Olympics seems a bit much.

I love the GAY PRIDE parades. It gives them some good visability. But I particularly like watching homophobic politicians out whoring for votes. Quite a few of my gay friends participate around the country and their self esteem seems considerably higher afterwards and they meet a lot of other guys. More power to them.

BUT GAY Olympics. It's like admitting you're inferior and need special considerations to compete. I know it's really about getting more exposure. But I don't think they will gain the same benefit.

Actually, they seperated the gays out as it was unfair to the strait competitors.

There are gay olympics, are you joking? When and where are they hosted? The last time I checked prefering the same gender sexually does not alter your physical abilities......and how do you proove your gay to qualify lol?

1.) Its called the Gay Games. The US Olympic Comittee sued them and tried to close them, but they just changed their name instead. Funny...they didn't sue the Special Olympics...

2.) Believe it or not, this is a huge thing in the gay community. In 1998, the games were held in Amsterdam. There were 15,000 participants and brought in about 60 million dollars to the city. The next is in Sydney.

3.) Its men and women.

It's a redundant name given the history of Ancient Olympics and the shear number of "gay" events in the real Olympics.

Every organization or group tends to have it's own events and gatherings, what the hell bothers you lot so much about gays wanting to have some fun?


As I mentioned earlier, the only possible problem could come from the name because it implies that the 'normal' olympics discriminates against gays, but apparently it isn't even called the gay olympics anymore so that is a moot point.

I thought they already had gay events in the regular Olympics, men's figure skating, men's gymnastics, men's diving, women's shot put, women's swimming(what a lesbian fest to watch the hormone challenged Chinese and German she-males).
As far as the gay Olympics, whats next the trans-gender Olympics?? Cmon lets get serious, the gay Olympics is just another excuse for a bunch of same sex'rs to meet and exchange bodily fluids. Perhaps they could cancel the games and donate the money to AIDS research.

A friend of mine wanted to participate in the Gay Games and he asked me to write him a letter of recommendation. I said the usual stuff about "He's a great example of the variety in the Gay Community and a good example to young gays. blah blah blah blah."

Afterwards, he told me why he wanted to compete. In the Gay Games, he couldn't have been brushed off or made fun of as "another limp wristed fag" because everyone there would be limp wristed fags. He'd be judged on his athletic merit alone.

Besides, it's a Community thing. A big event that brings people together and lets them have a great time. Like the Pride Parades. Ever been to one? They're a huge party! A great festival saying "We're not afraid to be who we are." Also, like rah said, it's great seeing politicians who wouldn't talk to us before standing beside topless lesbians.

Something about bringing millions of dollars into a city suddenly makes everyone a lot more friendly to gay rights.

Who gives these people a right to patronize others? I mean gay games? What the heck? I thought there being a gay T.V show was enough... but this.

This whole thing is trying to get them special treatment. We are all humans, and under democracy everyone is equal... but this is beyond equality, this is pathetic. I mean has this particular minority harassed the majority enough already? What makes them so special that they have to be persistent in pushing their ideas onto others? Who gives them a right to start shouting at people who have done nothing to them? I admit, they may not be well-treated by some, but the United States is no apartheid, thusly having no reason to try and make themselves more visible.

I condemn these "gay games" and anybody who supports them.

Yea but that goes against the olympics spirit. They dont hve Canadian olympics and then Chineese olympics and so on...We are talking about sports here and second, how can a judge know if the athlete is gay or not when the judges aren't supposed to talk or know the atheltes before the competition. I can probably recognize a really gay guy when he talks but come on! Not when he's flippind around a pole or running the 100meter sprint!
