Metaliturtle: I think you are overstepping your abilties. You can't say, for example, that Japan cut off British shipping. And SKILORD, since when did Canada have nukes? I thought the original info included "no nukes". Italy, if other members agree, is being kicked out of NATO .
Dubya looked over his speech one more time, and then looked out at the leaders of the world. "The reason I have brought you here to New York is to address the current international crisis. As you know, the United Nations was created with its headquarters right hear 10 years ago. Although no secretary general was elected then, I propose we elect someone to lead the process of resolving this crisis. If we cannot agree on a Secretary General, we can at least agree that any nation using nuclear weapons against any other nation is to be immediately excluded from all alliances. Another proposal is to require all nuclear weapons to be disbanded within 5 months (by 12 noon central time tomorrow), and that all nations shall jointly attack or condemn any offender of this rule.
Noms for Secretary General:
Dubya
Ivan Aronovich
Saddam Hussein (not a major world power but human controlled and not in Warsaw pact or NATO)
You may also abstain; 5 votes (more than half the people in the game) needed to elect someone.
Proposal to exclude "nukers" from alliances: needs 5 "yes" votes to pass.
Same with nuclear disarmament treaty.
VOTE VOTE VOTE you have until tomorrow. You can only vote for your own country, countries no one is controlling do not have a vote.
I vote:
Secgen: Dubya
Exclusion proposal: yes
Nuclear disarmament treaty: yes

Melina Mercouri looked witheringly at the Soviet upstart. "You would do best to remember, little man, that Greece is only your ally not your vassal. While I do not speak for the absent Greek President, I am the Culture Minister and..." She showed a dagger hidden behind her right hand, "we have the matter under control." She turned to Uday.
"Dearest, I loved the game you are playing and would have gladly come to Iraq to see the Hanging Gardens and ruins of Mardok's temple." Uday looked impressed at the knowledge of his country's culture. "But since the little d**kless bearstink over here has decided to invade our privacy, I will suggest to the Greek president, should I ever find him, that we trade you the Uranium for your wonderful little herbs and your remaining excess oil, in turn for your pledge not to bomb any Warsaw pact countries and your father's vote in the U.N. You can show your new ``friendship'' thusly."
She turned again to the Soviet agent. "Now, little pantload, please leave my home. By the way, while I don't presume to speak for the Greek president, your inability to rein in that wacko in Poland and his degrading actions towards women has not escaped our notice. We wonder just how fit USSR is to lead an alliance but Greece sticks to her agreements. For the nonce." She gestured to the two Greek guards who stood trembling because they had not known it was Melina that they had been looking at. Melina is a national hero, having fought for the communist revolution, starred in Greece's greatest movies of the 60s and led a total revival in Greek culture in the latter years of her life.
The Greek guards dropped to their knees and begged her forgiveness. She only laughed at them - "Up, gentlemen. No groveling on a Sunday. Never on a Sunday." They smiled and bowed as they escorted the fuming Soviet agent out of the room.
"Now, Uday, please put down that chloroform and I'll put down the dagger. Assuming the Greek president approves, do we have a deal?"
SADDAM HUSSEIN VOTES FOR THE STINKBEAR.

Saddam's speech to the U.N.: "Gentlemen and ladies. Among you are the misguided leaders of the countries that continue to enforce their cruel embargo against the people's of Iraq. The same ones now propose to supposedly rid the world of nuclear arms and then to elect themselves leader of the organization that supposedly will enforce these new regulations. We know a bad deal when we see one. We vote with the Soviets on this henious and unfair proposition and commend them on their leadership in this issue. And if more proposals like this come up, we forsee a new world order in which peace-loving countries of Eastern and South Eastern Europe come together with their Southwest Asian friends to counter balance the evil democracies of the West. The demands of the NATO countries are barbarous and arrogant. We know that their alliance is weak and realize that this just might be bluster so we call on President Bush to reconsider his aggressive and unilateral stances so that all the the world might thrive as equal brothers. Thank you very much and I am sorry if I went over my time."

"So this is my new home." Aronovich looked disdainfully at the office. The Soviet Government had been moved beneath the city of Moscow, into a "withstandinator" concrete bunker.
"Hopefully this is a temporary situation," Beria frowned. "Perhaps it will be permanent."
Aronovich frowned. "Our allies seem to be completely out of control, the reports of the war in Poland are very conflicting, and Canada and Greece have launched nuclear strikes already. I don't doubt counterstrikes are on the way."
"Perhaps a purge is in order." Beria gave his pat solution for any problem.
"For the last time, no! The times do call for drastic measures, leadership by example. Prepare a statement."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
