Um. Stew, it appears you're thinking everyone is like you. I don't go out of my way to fit in, I don't subconsciously do things so people like me. And I can assure you, being bisexual is NOT trendy where I live. Quite opposite, in fact. Further, if people did that to fit in, WHY WOULD THEY BE BISEXUAL? Most people are HETEROSEXUAL, genius.

True -- when I came out to myself, I went for my older brother's gun case, but fortunately, the gun was not there. Not sure if anything would have happened, but still glad it was not there.
So yes, being raised in a Catholic family to become a good little hetero, I initially was shocked and frightened with being gay due to the homophobia in our society.
But for about three years now, I have learned that you can be gay and strive for a happy, healthy life.
