	Police Brutality at LA Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

What do you think about it?
I just saw the video in the news, and it looked pretty obvious to me. I know they're doing their job and it's one hard job to do. But i think this is not the standard apprehension stuff.. that kid was handcuffed already when big cop slams him against the trunk face first hard, and then yells something to him and kid gets punched in the face too. Then he chokes him a little. Kid was already under control, maybe he badmouthed them first, don't know, but they went way over the line.
That's what i think. Are you afraid of riots this time?
What do you think should be done to that cop who went aggressive, and those others too who didn't stop it?
Do you believe they're going to get fair trial, or are they going to be protected?

They claim that it was just the ending of that beating..
I don't know if it was racial based or what ever, but that big white cop should be trialed and jailed or something.

I don't know about the records there. I know it was years ago (like in the 60's and so) when white cops used bash black people and racist things.. I guess it happens in these days but not so often, there are always bad cops, always has and always will be.

I don't know if this is the case though. Could be. But i don't know. Is it automatically racist if they are of a different race? That cop had KKK attitude though.

It doesn't have to be about racism. It was wrong as far as I could tell but white, black or green cop it doesn't matter. I hate it when the media make such a spectacle out of it, they nurture the ridge that exists btwn black and white in the States. Before they come out with all that fanafarism they should hold and wait to see what both sides have to say but they are instead interseted in sensationalism.

On the other side we are all humans and if the cop lost his nerve and was cruel towards the kid it does not have to be a direct link to racism. Wrong yes! But there you go... people start talking about King and stuff again. We got to put our past in the past it should not roll over as again and again.....

Similar things (stereotyping, media sensationalism) happen everywhere in the world, in Germany, Greece, Uk, etc.

Police brutality is equally bad whether it is white-on-white, white-on-black, black-on-black, or black-on-white.

I agree. But it can still lead to riots.. because of the thought of it. Anyway i hope it won't result to rioting.

Would this video be news if the guy getting beat to **** was white? No.

I'm not familiar with this case, since I havent seen the story, nor did anyone provide a link or anything......but I will say as much as police brutality may be a problem, I still cannot find much sympathy for criminals.

Rodney King? Violent, out of control crackhead. Did I ever view him as a victim? Hell no.

This is another example of how some police officers view their position not as a job, but as a party. They feel once they put on their uniforms they are free to do whatever they want. No one on their beat matters except for them. This is the attitude LA's police chief was attacking, and that's the reason many of the white officers out there hate him.

Definately no Rodney King case. Although i have no sympathy for the cops in that case, but at least this was not a danger situation. Cops claim this kid provoked and did not obey orders.. and kid claims he did not provoke and obeyed.. go figure. Anyway too ruff! Besides, he was hardly criminal. Did you see the cops face? He was furious! Cops are claimed to also drag the kid and beating him before the it was caught on tape. I think if there's trial, the jury will understand that if they let him/them go easy, hell is going to brake down.

Rodney King was a violent, dangerous criminal with a police record. This kid seemed to be nothing of the sort.

what the hell? riots... thats going to be the result... and I hoped there would have never been another incident like this...

the problem is that the riots don't accomplish anything but more problems. It does not punish racist or brutal cops nor does it prevent future ones. It's only pure anger. If there will be a riot, blacks in LA will just be punching against a brick wall, as Malcolm, I believe, used to say.

It was an excuse at causing some mayhem and looting by a very small percentage of the population. Much of the crime that took place was burning down and robbing buildings in ones own neighborhood, run primarily by minorities. What exactly does that have to do with racism? Nothing. What did it prove? Absolutely jack ****.

A riot is merely an excuse for hooligans to act up. It is not a vehicle to improve society. It never will be. If anything, it makes things worse.

Amen Albert. Although I'm not too enthusiastic about riots. Targeted killings make more sense. The Israelis say they target terrorists because the Pal Authority doesn't act. Well if the CA authorities don't act the people will have to execute justice themselves and target the CA terrorists.
