Umm.... homosexuals (gays/lesbians/etc) don't even make up 3% in some countries so I don't see how that is a problem.

I am also predicting a nationalist upswing in southern conservative Europe (Spain and Italy) where the population growth will increase... but now I am trailing off topic.

And if you think the world is underpopulated you ought to get your head examined.

I'm trying to figure out if you're really this much of a moron, or if you're trolling.

The world is definitely not underpopulated. To do that, you must argue not that we can sustain more people but that we have not enough people.

And capitalism is not the cause of pollution, Jon. What the hell are you smoking? Pollution is caused by the modern world. Without capitalism, people will still demand cars. Without capitalism, people will still demand electricity. Without capitalism, people will still pollute!

Look at China...

Umm, Asher China is more or less capitalist.

But pollution was even more severe in the USSR, so that disproves jon saying capitalism is the cause of pollution when it is not. Just people demanding items is...

but pollution would be more managable because it would not always be

a few dollars versus hoorible pollution (you know which the corporations will pick)

China is the same problem as USSR and other like countries, the beuracracy is in control and they are not green

there equation is different then money versus pollution, but it is still wrong

I was just refering to the worst polluters, the firstworld corporations

I argue that we are underpopulated becuase not only could we sustain more population

but it would be advantageous for us to have more population

Likewise, it would be advantageous for everyone to be 15 feet tall, and thus we must begin genetically altering babies.

You're throwing out ideas that are ridiculous ("capitalism causes pollution"), then when confronted with a counterexample of non-capitalist states with huge pollution problems it suddenly becomes their specific problems, and has nothing to do with your capitalism assertion.

Then you state "we are underpopulated because it's better if we have more people", more or less. Why, Jon? What can't we do now that we can with more people?

As far as homosexuality is concerned, it is wrong. It is a choice too. Just like murder is a choice. Just like stealing is a choice. You choose to have homosexual sex, heterosexual sex, or no sex at all. It doesn't just happen. You aren't just born thinking about how you want to have sex with someone of the same sex as yourself; it develops in your mind over time. Certain people influence it in your life. If you can blame homosexuality on genetics, then the same can be said for murderers. He was born a murderer, so should we punish him? What a dumb question. Of course we should punish him. But because homosexuality doesn't hurt people, I don't think people should be punished for it like murder. Instead, if they are caught doing something homosexual, they should get counseling. That would be their "punishment".

Knowing this, do you freely admit it's a choice which gender you are attracted to? Can you choose to be attracted to a man?

You're right, that IS a dumb question. Of course you should punish him, regardless if it's genetic, he KILLED SOMEONE. How is that anywhere remotely comparable to homosexuality? And I hardly think the vast majority of murder cases can be linked to genetics, and if they did it still wouldn't matter.

You just explained Argentina. This country as far as I am concerned will never be accepting toward homosexuals and police brutality is a well known fact here. It has been for years and years.

Homosexuality is not illegal here, and gays are not harried by the police.

There are Marti Gras parades in Mobile, Alabama, Carnival in Rio, and similar such festivals worldwide! The Hindu countries have heterosexual festivals, as do most pagan societies. Europe has many such festivals.

In the future, we will have proven how sexual orientation develops.

I say that no matter how sexual orientation develops, homosexuality and homosexual sex is not wrong, nor is it unnatural.

The United States still has what I call Pink Crow laws, such as sodomy laws that in theory, apply to all sexual orientations, but in pratice, is meant to discriminate against homosexuals.

And another Pink Crow law that in a number of states, bans legal recognition of civil unions of homosexual couples.

And there are other Pink Crow laws as well -- like denying employed homosexual couples the same benefits that employed heterosexual couples enjoy.

And then of course, there's the unofficial, social custom of a Pink Crow law that makes behavior that is appropriate for heterosexual couples to act out in public, not appropriate for homosexual couples.

Of the many things that didn't make sense in your post, this is the most baffling. It displays a complete lack of logical thinking. Just because someone's sexual orientation is genetically determined in no way insinuates that any other behavior is necessarily genetically determined. A homosexual is a homosexual, regardless of whether or not he sleeps with someone of the same gender or not. It's about sexual attraction. Nobody is a murderer until they commit murder (unless you're in silly world like Minority Report).

As for your "counseling," would that be like the counseling provided to homosexuals during the 19th century, perhaps? It usually involved electrodes applied to genitals...

Nobody cares about the "pink crow" laws because they are not enforced, and are a joke. Why dont you complain about something that actually affects someone?

To compare them to Jim Crow laws is utterly ridiculous.

Unfortunately, that's not true. The anti-sodomy laws have been enforced against gays, as a recent example in Texas showed.

And the other things he mentioned are still happening. One of the most egregious examples is hospitals refusing to grant the partner visitation rights, even when their lover lies dying in a hospital bed.

And the article most striking is this one:

http://www.hrw.org/worldreport99/special/gay.html

quote:
Police violence against and detention of gay and lesbians in Argentina continued in 1998, and Human Rights Watch representatives met with Argentinian government officials in October to discuss such abuses. According to a Human Rights Watch report, released in Buenos Aires in October, homosexuals were subjected to frequent arbitrary detentions, followed by police abuses that included extortion, verbal and physical violence, torture, inhuman and degrading detention conditions, robbery, compulsory HIV testing, sexual harassment and rape, false criminal accusations and death threats. Police in Argentina conducted razzias (raids) against members of homosexual communities, raiding bars, discos, and other meetings places and often detaining large groups at a time. Individuals were searched and detained for no apparent reason, according to the discretion of the police conducting the raid. Some transgender women in Mendoza, Argentina, were arrested and assaulted by police in 1998 and kept in basement cells with inadequate ventilation where they were sexually assaulted and denied access to medical treatment.

And Boris, what name would you suggest?? I thought Pink Crow is good -- after all, we do use the upside down pink triangle as one of our symbols.

If you're being completely honest, this means you're bisexual and simply repress the urges to be with a man. Most straight men wouldn't agree with you.

Why don't you try that again, this time with an example from puberty when those hormones actually kick in.

Besides, there are actually plenty of gays who felt the attraction since birth, while most end up with it in puberty.

Yeah right -- black and white civil rights activists of the 1960's were just plain hypocrites and evil, for forcing the appalling concept of equality under the law in our society.

Your logic is fallicious, to say the least.
