IMHO I would keep unit design with the Minister of Defence. If Exploration is given to an Intelligence Advisor (do you agree on that one??) Defence will have too little to do in the beginning of the game. SE by the president and political parties would be great.

Yes, we could name him Minister of Social Engineering. He'd have also control over the Psi rate. Of course, if drone riots ensue, the Commissioner will intervene, but it should be the task of the MSE to avoid having drone riots. Surely there'd be SE polls around to decide what we choose. That's when the parties come to play.

Large postcount != activity? Not exactly. Who do you think is more active, the poster who makes 100 posts in one day per week, or the poster who makes one poster every day of the week?

moo. I'm a Justice in the Civ3 Demo game, thought this looks interesting as well. I'll probably follow it if it takes off.

I'm not the best person to ask about how we do things at Civ 3, but I'm willing to answer.

Some tips right away: Our ministers have final say over what they are ministers of. The president actually plays the game. The group of the president, vp, and ministers together are all the executive branch. The legislative branch is everyone that votes in any polls. Often ministers do polls in the messageboard, or quickpolls during a turnchat to determine what the people want.

We recently installed a judicial branch to keep others in line with our code of laws http://apolyton.net/forums/showthre...&threadid=56100 .

I would suggest a smaller government to start with since it will be the easiest to set up and require the least people, then to expand on it. Seems logical but I wasn't around for the starting of the Civ3 demo game.

The purpose of the religious advisor in the game is to place moral groundwork for the staff. All decision would also be blanced against the possible moral outcome of the decision. This input would be as helpful as any other.
