Hmmm, I think the 'moral outcome' should be on the shoulders of the Minister himself. I don't think we need a specific person to advise him in his actions. We have the Commissioner for that. If the people disprove the Cabinet's actions as immoral, they may vote for new Ministers in the next elections.

If we get a golden age in one of our bases, what's the name of that lady that appears in a pop-up? Psych Chaplain? For Social Affairs? Chief Librarian for Research seems well, but what will we use then for historian? Chronicler after all?

lol, well there you go. Alpha Talent (Cheif assistant to the Commish) will be the only position that does not have a term for the first member elected. So, as long as that single mind worm stays alive, the Alpha Talent can continue his or her position with out fear or replacement... that is until s/he gets cooked by flame guns in game. Than we'll start having limited termed Alpha Talents as replacements.

Now, I'm sure you'll asking, "Well Marc, what happeneds if the Alpha Talent's mind worm *NEVER* gets gacked?"

Simple, If we're all sick of the person, we can always vote to have the Minister of Defense (or Psi Chaplin, or whatever) ordered to move that single little Alpha Talent Mind worm to stand next to, but do not attack, that Elite Empath Chaos Rover whom belongs to Miriam (who just happened to declared vendetta on us last round.)

I feel the best approach is to allow the runner up to be the Alpha Talent. Appointment is bogus, after all the people did not vote for that person for any office, at least the runner up ran for the office.

I feel that each cabinet member should be proposed in al;ternating turns by the Commission and his second. However I propose the commision get two placements for each one of the second. For example, the Commision says I want to name the General of our Security Forces and Our Chief Scientist. In this way the Commision can exercise some of his power and build a cabinet he likes yet he is balanced by the next choice being made by his second.

As for my running for office, of course I am, and I feel I am a good choice. Fundamentalist views are not widely accepted but many people do so silently.

(As for being a troll..lightne up, just playing the game )

Question:

Will the Defence Commissioner/Minister/Advisor be in charge of new designs in the unit workshop? I ask becuase Former designs and updates are in another juristiction, and some of the options have huge impact on the other juristictions (ie recycling units have impact on resources, nerve gas is policy along with busters, etc)

Perhaps The Commish appoints the Alpha Talent followed by a 3/4 vote of approval from the ministers?

My concern with the vote of the commisioners is that they have been appointed by the Commisioner, hence he has built a large power base that could be yes men to him. By using the method I described the Commissioner would still have a strong council but it would be ore balanced.

I realize that a lot of you have already formed your ideas, but I think it would be neat if we named our officers based on the faction. Deans for University, Commissioners for Peacekeepers, Vice-Presidents for Morganites, Ministers for Believers (as that seems to fit), et cetera.

Assuming we go ahead with Peacekeepers (who last I checked held a bare majority in the poll), I propose either having Commissioners for each areas (as they do in the real UN), led by a High Commissioner, or having the Commissioner be our President, and the various ministers be Directors (also from the UN). One way to do it might be:

Commissioner / High Commissioner (President)
Director General / Alpha Talent (VP)
Director of / Commissioner for Colonization (Imperial Expansion)
Director of / Commissioner for Terraforming (Public Works)
Director of / Commissioner for Energy (Economy)
Director of / Commissioner for Peacekeeping Operations (SMC)
Director of Research / Commissioner for Science and Technology (Science)
Director of / Commissioner for Diplomacy (Foreign)
Director of / Commissioner for Industry (City Planner)
Librarian (Historian)
