Just been looking at the save. Interesting that we all have robotics except Makeo.

I feel Makeo's strat to get Seti and then a tech per turn had to be countered. I've stopped his tech rate, bolstered my techs, and created a situation in the world where all civs may prosper in continued peace.

This is OK as a civ leader to another civ leader. So if I did lie I want to be clear that it is the civ leader that's lied and NOT me the person. I don't really like person to person deals and assurances. The way I've played, generally speaking, is in that of role mode. I don't see it as a nice gentlemanly game of tennis. I see it as a serious competetion, like playing squash with my best friend. I don't consider on court tactics/deceptions as anything to do with our real life friendship...

Are we on the same page?

Yes - you had military units in that transport and lied about it to us all

It also explains the answer to your question about whether he had a unit - the diplo - on your land.

The problem with your role-play theory, D, is that King Chat is a mixture of game and personal and sometimes indistinguishable. I think you'd better let us know in future when you're role-playing.

Well I know finbar was very cross when Deity once again violated the peace of the world with tech stealing but I said to him, "Don't be mad at Deity, finbar, he's doing it for us"

What on Earth are you guys talking about? Tech stealing is part of the normal game (unless banned).
I don't get it.
I don't believe in online deals that effect games.
I DO belive in what Sid wrote in the manual about playing devious and manipulative 'friends' !
What's the problem?
I'm not going to say when I'm being me.

I don't see what the problem is - we've learned we can't believe a word you/Captain Deiticus/your evil twin/whoever is using your keyboard, says to us on KC. I don't have a problem with that. Its been noted for the benefit of all and for all future games.

Its settled now. Why do you keep bringing it up?

I've found your behaviour in the game very interesting actually - the lone wolf behaviour, the refusal to interact normally with other players on maps and tech trading, the lack of ettiquette in bilateral communication, the assumption that everyone is ganging up on you and noone will trade with you. You weren't like this before.

Its been very interesting to watch, not to say bizarre. I don't think I've ever seen such peculiar behaviour from a civ player - especially when you then tell us that behaviour which alienates other players is all part of some "master plan", lol.

How strange a post is this!

Not so long ago you were saying that the Aussie games were getting weird and in a bit of a rut about who attacks who etc... now you want the reliable, secure formula back?

I'm just playing out diferent roles in diferent games. Sometimes I trade, sometimes not.

As you once said I think, predicability is a bit boring.

Surely this game is much more intersting now?

Or were we just all supposed to build Spaceships?

Oh, I see what you mean!

I vote diplo-guiding is OK as is ship chaining.

The only rules I remember agreeing on at the beginning was no city or unit bribe.

As we aproach the end-game we better try and avoid AH wobblies...
