Put an end to popups!

Well Hydey,
Basically the only way the other three players could get me was by conspiring and breaking the rules of this non-alliance game. Makeo's attack on me failed so he ceded a key small city to AH so that AH could attack me before my turn came around.
I had no problem with the other civs wanting to bring down the civ who's SS landed first but I do have a problem with an out of game agreed conspiracy that involved total co-operation in a non-alliance game.

Once rules are broken then spin-doctoring and role playing are irrelevant.

You are the one that needs face-saving.

If your attack was fair and square you know I'm a decent and fair person and would heap praise on you. But with Makeo ceding that city in a no city bribe, no unit bribe and non-alliance game makes your gains meaningless.

What's to stop all three of you giving all your cities and units to one civ to attack me on one turn. It's absurd when you consider this as the thin end of the wedge.

Oh, and it's not over yet. Unlike other players I don't quit. I've already got my old cap back and taken three of your home cities and it's still in the middle of my turn... see you at 9pm tonight if everyone is free.

This is personal now, beyond role-playing. THe only way to teach an unfair player a lesson is to beat them by not breaking the rules.

You've had your Pearl Harbour, now see what happens ................

Its just a shame you're such a bad sport, a real shame.

But funny as hell too

You're attempts to re-write the game rules after you've been completely outsmarted are just laughable

I mean, what you are doing here is so transparent and only you can't see it.

And it isn't "personal" as far I'm concerned - that would just be childish.

Tell me when the tantrum is over

Btw, did you get anything for the scrap metal of your spaceship?

I'm not attempting to re-write game rules. I'm expressing my opinion about city ceding in this non-alliance game and reluctantly accepting the verdict of the players in the game, regardless of how bewildered I am about it.

And how am I a bad sport AH?

I'm playing on in the game having put forward my POV.

I'm entitled to be annoyed if I felt that unfair play had occurred which I honestly believed to be against the generaly understood rule of non-alliance - particularly in this game where unit bribing is also dis-allowed.

Isn't the idea behind the 'no unit bribing' rule to stop civs from getting cheap units and unreasonable tactical advantages? If so, ceding units and cities is far worse IMHO.

Also, what do you mean by those king chat statements about you knowing what I'm doing during my builds and suggesting I was up to something?

Incidentally, talking about bad sports, I seem to remember that it was you who behaved like a spoilt child and quit a game (as host) when I bribed a unit of yours. There was confusion in the rules but you carried on as though youn had the right to set the rules as you went along. You were voted down that time because most games do allow unit bribe.

The fact is in our current game I continued to play on after expressing my dismay; but you quit like a spoilt brat. I've never quit a session.

Oh for Christ's sake get a grip Deity

You seem to have completely lost perspective because you had a bad turn.

Now I don't think anyone has ever accused Makeo, finbar and I of being cheats - and the only special "rules" we were aware of in the game were no unit bribe and no city bribe. Remember the big rules discussion we had on this thread?

Actually I didn't need makeo's city to take you out - it just made sense to both of us a. to avoid going to war b. to save time and c. to save both of us some units. Nothing unfair about that - are you saying makeo and I should restrict our diplomacy when it doesn't suit you?

And actually I miscalculated because although I took your capital, most of your major cities and destroyed your spaceship , I had expected you to go into civil war, which would have left you with about 4 cities and no capacity to counter attack me as you doing now - but am I whining about it? Nah - it was all worthwhile

And I thought it was very sporting of me to wait at the start of my turn as you requested because you said "builds hadn't been saved" LOL!

You seem to have used that time to sell every improvement you could, buy a new capital and re-assign many units to safe cities that would have been lost if I had take my turn normally.

Yes, very sporting of me given I now seem to be being attackjed by units you should have lost

But WTF its just a game and I'm having a ball And what you do to me won't influence the otucome of the game now

I just wish you wouldn't try and tarnish what looks like makeo's rightful victory in this game. Cheers to makeo

Exactly. You still don't understand do you?
I thought you were intelligent? But then...

Now, once more for the dummies...

Because you host AHorsie you probably never notice this but after I hit return at the end of MY turn any selling or buying I do doesn't get saved in the hosts save, ie your save. So AT THE BEGINNING of the next session when you load up I'm madly re-doing all my microing that hasn't been saved.

Makeo must have done all his rush buying DURING his turn to start his SS which I think is why his turns were so long then.

You either have a rule of non-alliance or not. That's it, end of story. This is a non-alliance game and your weak strategy couldn't cope with that.

BTW, without Makeo's city you couldn't have got through because I didn't see any spies for you to diplo guide. It was the key to the invasion wasn't it? Can you confirm this? All I saw was lots of Alpines and a few Mobiles go by.

Yes but deity - this is not a non-cooperation, non-alliance game. It never has been Where have you been for the past 5 millenia of turns?

There's been trading, tech trading, map sharing going on all around you. You've been offered all of that too and you never said, "no, I can't. This is non-alliance, non-cooperation game."

I don't need makeo's city take you out

That's not why it was done

Would you like me to play my turn again so you can watch me take your capital and destroy your spaceship again?

I'd be happy to oblige

I've been doing it over and over with the save- and makeo can't cede me his city in the save

Its become like a home movie I like to play

Hardly - you go down whether I have makeo's city or not

Would you like to see me do it? Please say yes - I consider taking your capital and destroying your spaceship one of those "great moments in civ"

Its more fun without makeo's city actually because I get to kill a few units - since you had NONE and he actually has a couple

Too busy whining on KC no doubt

You are completely wrong. Getting makeo's city wasn't even in my plan because I didn't think he would give it to me. Why? Because he said he wanted to destroy you himself. Why did he agree? Mutual interest - he's at war with you!!! I think it also may be because I told him I would just take his city if he didn't give it to me but he said because he hates tech stealing And you had to steal at least 15 techs off me to build your spaceship

Doesn't matter anymore does it? You have been royally screwed by the Horse Empire, mainly for the hubris and the earlier tech stealing btw - I don't like it either - have a nice day

They are wisely staying right out of it

But I think its safe to say they share my view that you are not thinking rationally at the moment.

Come on Deity - you are just throwing a giant hissy fit because the play went against you. That's how it looks where I sit anyway. You took a giant risk leaving your main cities virtually undefended and, well, you paid the price, you lost

Deal with it and stop trying to cast aspersions on everyone and put a question mark on what now looks like the inevitable outcome of this game.
