This ends the royal house of Obrenovic. A hastily-summoned Skupstina (national assembly) elects Prince Peter of the former Serbian royal house Karageorgevic (overthrown 1858) as new king, and introduces a democratic constitution.
- Panama was give independence as a result of the Panamese Rebellion against Colombia, although US troops which were marching in Panama officialy to "liberate the country" annexed it and incorporated it into the USA.

The French do not anticipate any widening of the conflict beyond the eastern shores of China. In fact, any expansion of the conflict would undoubtably be hurtful to the French economy and military.
Further, we would like to sign a Trade agreement, opening each other's ports to free trade across the Mediterean.

Very well, you may be isolationist. But France is not. And we will not tolerate further expansion near our colonies in South American and Caribean territories.
