Germany - Diplomacy:

To Warsaw Pact: We are beginning a program of further military upgrades in reaction to the unstable world situation at present; we hope you do not object.

Germany - Production:

Germany is now upgrading all it's conventional forces by one level, making extensive use of NATAK, IDF and the Iraqi National Guard (ING) troops. This will be complete in three years.

German scientists develop the world's first microchip with the assistance of an American emigre named Jack Kilby. This is expected to lead to a revolution in electronics and manufacturing. The German government has now more than doubled R & D funds going to the team that developed it. Kilby himself has been awarded the Nobel Prize for his work.

Germany - Military Actions:

German-backed paramilitaries have been able to inflict a crushing defeat on an Egyptian army divison in Nigeria after six days of fighting. the local guerillas have taken over the area and are selling oil to anyone who wants to buy.

Meanwhile, with the Band armies in Central Asia largely destroyed by the Soviets, anti-Islamist guerillas backed by Germany have seized power across much of the Caucasus. Those Band troops who remain have been totally cut off.

However, the Islamic fundemntalist group Hizbollah recieved a surpising number of votes, almost 20% of the total. Germany is very concerned at this, as a major aspect of Hizbollah's program is the complete expulsion of all foreigners from the Middle East, including the entire Jewish population oif Palestine.

The test of the Me-15 fighters has proved that they are indeed better then any fighter China has now. The Chinese Airforce is now ordering 600 planes each year for a period of 5 years. During which that plane will become China's main fighter.

China would also like to open trade with the rest of the world. Also for companies interested in relocating to China, our price of labor is cheep compared to most of our nations, thus you can save lots of money by building factories in China.

As to your proposal for a joiunt project on a new one: we would be very interested in that, as we are sure you have have much knowledge to contribute to such an undertaking.

To China: We thank you for doing business with us. Your order has kept more than a dozen factories open and preserved thousands of jobs.

A number of German companies, taking advantage of China's now-open markets, are setting up shop in China as fast as they can. Billions of Deutshmarks have been invested in the first few months alone, with the flow not looking likely to end any tiem soon. This has resulted in the local economy in many areas growing swiftly as new factories are built, along witht eh infrastructure required to support them.

we have somewhat of an electronics industry as well (not making this up just now--see previous posts) and we could both benefit from exchange of advanced products and designs. The commercial companies are free to compete amongst each other, what we're interested in is the military grade hardware. This need not be for military use- it just needs to be good quality. We have an abundance of manufacturing sites and people qualified for software, if you give us the specifications we can produce it very cheaply and give it back to you in large quantities.

The focal points of the German covert war in Egypt have switched to Somalia and Zaire, with central authroity in both areas collapsing. The army is fighting a losing battle to regain control, while local factions consoldiate their grip.

A suicide bomber, whose identity is unconfirmed but beleived to be Arab, detonated himself in apopular Berlin theatre today. An Egyptian organization with links to the Egyptian government and the Iraqi extremist gorup Hizbollah claimed resonsibility, saying it was in retaliation for the German overthrow of the Iraqi theocracy. The German government retaliated by bombing several Egyptian miltiary installations,a nd warned that if such attacks are repeated, it will take full military action agaisnt Egypt in order to apprehend the criminals responsible.
