OK - my apologies in advance - and to any snarky comments I have posted in other threads. But I am p***ed off. Sorry, but I am.
The last day or two in this forum has been in some respects a disgrace to Apolyton and what I thought we stood for. And for me, it has been personally frustrating.
First , I will offer a blanket apology to one and all for some of the things that may have fallen between the cracks in organizing the team and the game set-up, or if a poll was closed by the time you got here, or if you didn't know this forum existed. And yes - perhaps some more creative advertising could've been used to inform people.
BUT - enough folks knew about it and were here. And pitched in to make it work.
This thread
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthre...&threadid=73702
in the Civ3 Demo game forum has been active and on the front page since inception. It includes updates from MarkG as to when the forum was set up, when it became 'closed', and how to access it.
I also posted an advertisement thread in the PTWDG forum, and Mark posted an announcement on the main Civ3 board.
This thread here in the closed forum contained a running commentary on what was going on with the game schedule, what teams were in or out, issues at the intersite forum including game parameter discussions, and the final game parameters:

This thread contains the debate which went for sometime regarding a civ choice:
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthre...&threadid=75946
This one contains the summary of the voting on a civ, both for our team, and for the other site teams as they became avialable:
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthre...&threadid=76477
This thread contained the discussion on the civ customization:
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthre...&threadid=76690
This one summarizes in the first post what had been decided with civ customization, and what was left to determine:

Numerous other threads, including those started by Arnelos, Thud, and nye addressed the constitution, consul nominations, elections, and many initial strategy issues. Thank-you one and all for getting us to the starting line in reasonably good shape, particularly given the tight time lines.
So for all those of you who complained about things, step up and let me check your off-topic posting during this period. If you had time for some of that nonsense, you clearly had time to be here catching up on things and contributing. I appreciate that many of you may have had RL or other Apolyton team duties. As do I, btw.
To folks disgruntled from other areas of Apolyton gaming- please leave it at the door. This is a new game.
Once again - to those who helped, thank-you. For those of you who were patient with some of the tight deadlines and perhaps everything not being tied up or presented as nicely as it could have been, thank-you. For those who helped with new members - notably Donegeal - thank-you.
And again - my apologies for everything not being perfect - but then hey - Apolyton is a bit like RL after all.
For others who still aren't happy - well - the game hasn't started yet - you can always leave the team. You don't need my authorization to do that.
Thank-you for listening and ...
Now - on with the game!
..... Beta. (going contentedly to sleep)

Well, the whole bit about many of us being on various teams in different games makes my head spin.
I'll put my AU hat on, and say that I trust the good guys... share and share alike, and let's learn from each other ('poly first, of course).
Soren? I was about to slap in the "we're not worthy" thingie, but I'll say this instead. The guy gets abuse a-plenty, but keeps coming back. And delivering.
As far as I'm concerned, he can and should spy all he wants.
(I know, you were joking, but I feel for the Firaxians, in a big way, and want to encourage their continued efforts... the Intersite game notwithstanding)
Just to make it clear: I LOOOOVE that Firaxis is stepping up, and I hope that it somehow helps the game... but I got Sid in the crosshairs!!!

Exactly ... you linked to 5 threads and referred to "numerous other threads".
Nobody is unappreciative of the work many people have put into this forum already, however, requesting a topped summary thread for the benefit of people who have come into this thing a little late really didn't seem like too much to ask.
