You'd also have to look at the percentage of the voters in the ridings voting Alliance. I suspect that will be higher in Alberta, though I could be wrong. And the party did have it's beginning there.

That's not their only platform though. In many areas, they have a great deal of similarity with the Republicans in the US. And an elected upper house is hardly an Alliance thing, many people would like to see it, myself included.

I think I actually prefer Day to Steven Harper. Day was a buffoon, but Harper just comes off as a jackass.
