Yes, good memories. Made good friends with a guy from Rip-bum, BC (Terrace ) who was just starting at SFU the next year and hooked up with him to go to some dorm parties the next couple of years. (I lived at home because I was close to campus.)

Oh yeah, we were in the bush. I can't remember our rotation though - too long ago.

Rip-bum, BC (Terrace)

That proves you've been up North.

Didn't really stay friends with the folks I planted with, not many returned back to UBC.

I had a pretty enjoyable 19th birthday out in the bush, though.

Got a bit off topic.

The results from yesterday:

Tampa staves off elimination by winning 4-3 over New Jersey.

Dallas staves off elimination as well, beating Anaheim 2-1.

Overall results:

East:

Philadelphia ties Ottawa 1-1
New Jersey leads Tampa 2-1

West:

Anaheim leads Dallas 2-1
Minnesota ties Vancouver 1-1

Wow! Canucks win 3-2 even though they only got 13 shots on goal! The Wild are in trouble, even when they limit the Canucks attack, it is not enough to stop them. Roloson doesn't look good coming out with a 669% save average.

The Canucks get a huge boost by showing their defence is strong and that they can score when they have to against the Wild.

Two steps closer to the all-Canadian final!

The Canucks have started to solve the Wild, and they already have 2 wins - I'm hoping they'll wrap things up quickly now.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DUCKS!!!

That last call on Arnott: Questionable?

I say: it may be 'questionable' due to the timing, but the hit itself was definitely illegal. If you see the guy's numbers, you gotta hold back.

Still, it was a 1-0 win, so Dallas doesn't have much of a case saying that the penalty cost them the game.

DEVILS! DEVILS!

Stevens comes back from getting a puck shot in the face and not only plays a solid game, but scores a goal!! The future Hall of Famer turns in another HoF performance ! Who knows, if the Devs go all the way again, Stevens might get himself another Conn Smythe Trophy (closely stealing it from Brodeur )

^ God, anyone but the Devils. It's long past time for the Stanley Cup to get outside of the Detroit/Colorado/Dallas/New Jersey pack (they've won 'em all since 1995) and get into some new hands. Two are down, a third's on the brink, it's just those damn Devils to deal with.

Senators can take 'em!

No doubt about it. The Senators won the season series 3-1. The Devils' win was 2-1 in the season opener for both teams (Oct 10), and Ottawa won the remainder: 4-3, 3-0, 5-3. Brodeur and Lalime played every meeting.

New Jersey eliminated Tampa tonight. The poor Southeastern conference - the only reason they got a team in the second round is because Washington and Tampa faced each other!

Canucks come back from two 1-goal deficits to beat the Wild in OT. Vancouver's blue line is on fire!

I hate Vancouver. Bertuzzi is a lizard who belongs on a leash. The Wild will come back and win the series. They did so against the Avs, a much stronger team than the Canuckleheads.

Anyone else catch the blatant pro-Vancouver slant by the CBC commentators? It's so sickening. Everything that Fernandez does SUCKS and Clouthier is a star. CBC is doing a terrible job (par for the course) with this series.

Every team has a Bertuzzi, or needs one. He's the prototypical power forward that gets under the skin of the opposing team's top defenders. If you hate Bertuzzi, he's doing his job well.

I give the Wild full marks for coming back on the Avs. But it is much harder to do it a second time, against a team that a) is prepared to not underestimate them, and b) has been knocking the stuffing out of them much more than Colorado.

The Avs "much stronger" than the Canucks? They may have finished the season on fire, but they only won the division by a single point. Not to mention that Vancouver won that season series 3-1.

It's no worse than any other media bias. In any all-Canadian regular season matchup, CBC is always biased for the eastern team (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal). In a matchup vs. an American club, it depends on the history. CBC will usually show favour for clubs like Detroit and Colorado over any western Canadian team. It's actually quite rare to hear them so pro-Canucks.

The American media bias is far worse, and laughable. During events like the Olympics, I sometimes turn to the American coverage just for a laugh, as they trump up their own while displaying shock and dismay should someone else win.

The avs play with no heart, no grit, no determination. Roy is an old man, Colorado has NO DEPTH AT ALL, and Sakic and Forsberg were the only men on the ice doing anything whatsoever. The Canucks have the best fans in the game, they're young and have everything to prove.

You mean pro-Canadian teams? Sheesh, ESPN predicted the Wild as favorites for the series. CBC is a Canadian station so of course they'll slant to pro-Canada. You think the bias is with the Canucks though? What about Toronto? When the Leafs acquired Nolan, Cherry said "We finally got him!"

I'm glad Willie Mitchell is out for good, I hate that lil punk.. nobody elbows Naslund in the back of the head, cross checks Linden in the back of the neck, and lives. It was a clean hit too, he saw Bertuzzi coming and turned his back to him. The Canucks made contact at least 4 times before the refs called it, it was a total crowd-appeasing call.

There's been no New Jersey talk because everyone expected them to get this far. C'mon - Boston and Tampa? Foregone conclusions - 5 games to get past each.

The Devils have my respect, but they've gone as far as they'll go, I think. They could beat Philly, but not Ottawa, and I'm betting Ottawa is their next opponent.

And I completely agree with Tingkai - watching them play is a snorefest!
