Fried-Psitalon's MP strategy advice is thorough and well thought-out. The only problem is that it is mostly from a internet MP environment, which is completely different from play-till-the-end-winner-takes-all PBEM games. Nonetheless, he's got some good insights into how humans play the game differently than the AI, which is very valuable to us in an of itself.

My last two for now- The_Great and Levi (short for Leviathan, which was taken here apparently), both excellent, top-notch members of the ladder, and good chums of mind. Very reliable, very solid, and very excited by the idea of what we have going on here. I have no doubt that they will contribute a great deal, and do so with some degree of eloquence to boot.
I readily and without a moment's hesitation stake my reputation on these last two, as well as the two above. (Like I've got a sterling reputation anyhow. hehe.)
Edit: Wow, you know, I never bothered to go back and read what anyone might've said about when I was invited..... geez.
That's some pretty high praise... boy, did I let you poor bastards down!

Hello everyone. Fried suggested I get involved with this group and, while my time is slightly stressed, I can't think of a better way to slack at work.
A little information about myself. I am 39M and have been around the internet a little to long. I used to post very heavily when we called this type of site a bulletin board. Now that I have dated myself, I have also fallen away from a lot of heavy posting (been there, done that)
I have been playing civ a long time and wanted to play multiplayer long before it existed. I have not really been a member of the civ online community before until PTW came out.
Shortly after I bought PTW I joined the ladder, then became a tournament director, then became an Admin then the head TD. Unfortunatly, this affected my play time adversely but it is how I feel I can best support the game. Somewhere along that process fried taught me some things and he thinks I am passable as far as my skills go.
Frankly, I am fairly good at the multiplayer environment but I lack a deep understanding of civ3 itself. I am here to contribute what little I can and possibly take away some tips and tricks to improve my own game.
I am definatly not aligned with any message board group, neither poly nor any other. Honestly I am slightly afraid of joining poly simply because I know how addictive online message posting groups can be and I won't go there again.
Expect me to lurk a lot at first mostly because I have a lot of catching up to do, but when I have things to say, you might have a hard time shutting me up; like now. hmmm perhaps that is a good note to end on.

I joined a few days ago, after being recommended by Fried. At this point, I'm not completely clear how this works, but I'll offer whatever input I can. I've been playing multiplayer very frequently, so perhaps I could offer some insight into playing against human opponents. Unfortunately I've been playing almost all of my games with accelerated production turned on, which may result in some of my perceptions and opinions being inaccurate for this game.
