Israel Evacuates Outposts - Assasinates Hamas Leader Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

A few minutes ago helicopters fired missiles on a car in the Gaza strip, rumors say that Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi was killed. He was #2 in the Hamas and was the official Hamas spokesman.

If that's true, . I always wanted to see the ****er dead.

Here's a report about the dismantling of the outposts :
http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast...east/index.html

(some were already rebuilt by the settlers)

We missed.

After every terrorist attack, it was his gloating face that we saw on TV, talking about settlements like Tel Aviv and Haifa and promising death to everyone. HTF could 6 missiles miss him?

Lots of ways. You've got to expect people in imminent danger of being assassinated to take a few precautions (like fitting laser warning systems to their cars, hiring body doubles, and making sure informers get "turned" to give false info, rather than just killing them).

It's kind of a law of diminishing returns - the more successful kills, the greater the opposition is going to avoid your tactics.

Firepower alone will not defet extremists.

As for the outpost thing - that took guts. Keep it up and those extremists are going to be seen as the option least likely to succeed.

che, Israel takes the most measures to prevent civilian deaths than any other army on earth.

Israeli soldiers fight in urban warfare, and are fully trained to do the job they are asked to do. If you want to call the Israelis "murderers" then why don't you condemn Cuba, Libya, Syria, North Korea, Iran, Zimbabwe, etc. for their repression? Hmm?

And if they rebuild again after that, let the Palestinians be the ones to deliver the eviction notice.

Which is why they kill so damned many of them I guess? That's pure BS. Not only do they not take extraordinary measures, but they actively target journalists ni the Territories to make sure the world doesn't see what goes on. The OTs are the most dangerous place in the world to be a journalist. Dropping bombs on buildings full of sleeping people and firing missiles into cities isn't taking measures to protect non-combatants. It's proof you don't give a damn about them.

And Cuba doesn't murder anyone, so take that one off you list of people I "don't condemn."

I know it would be an incredibly dangerous operation, but how feasible would it be to send in special ops to kill Hamas instead of using missiles?

It would probably be less likely to succeed. With proper backup, however, not too risky.

It would be more likely to put the fear of Allah in the people left alive when it did succeed though.

I just want to clarify that I completely support assassinating Hamas leaders. I was just wondering if there was another way of doing it other than firing missiles, seeing as how missiles can accidently kill innocent bystanders if they miss.

Tired of ads?

They use missiles and bombs for the surprise element, to keep their quarry from escaping. It's probable rather likely they also are tyring to nab people when they can.

Hamas has vowed "retaliation". Once again the cycle of kill and kill again continues. There is no doubt that Hamas must stop terrorism and that their leaders need to be accountable. If peace is to actually happen then the Palestinians must police themselves and deal with Hamas. If they are unable or unwilling, then what choice does Israel have other than to take such measures to protect herself?

GePap, I agree in principle. The reality is somewhat different. Hamas has stated that they will not abide by any cease-fire with Israel. The Palestinians are eithier unwilling or unable to control them. I'll ask again...What choice do the Israeli's have?

I don't know..rule of law, respect of human rights, civil right? Israel is the ONLY state that does this sort of things as basic policy. The US has been the second only one to try stunts like this, but we assidiously avoid attacks such as this anywhere within miles of any populated area, and the fact is that Israel is not even the numer one victim of terrorism, not in number of attacks over the years, not in the numbers of killed. What we have is a policy based on the notion that oly thorugh fear can they "be taught" and only trhough direct violence, and for an eye, can "justice" be done. Well, i don;t buy either. All that killing of people by Irsaeli has only slowed down new attacks, but they have not, nor are they about to ever, bring peace. You think the family of the men you blow up in the Territories wants blood any less than the families of people who get blown up in Israel? And if Israelis have the right to "kill those that kill Jews", well then, under what insane notion do you think Pal's are denied that same "right"?

There is no such things as the inevitable. Israel chooses to deal with Palestinains violently. That has been state policy for decades. And it has done nothing. Even if they get this guy, Hamas won;t get a new spokesman? Bullsh1t.

Well, that brings up a question: we had no thread on the Pal attack agains the Gaza IDF outposts: was the because it did not fit the "definition of oterrorism" people have created here in Poly?

Did you watch the same war I watched? As many as 1,500 Bahgdad civilians were killed in the bombing according to local hospitals.
