This is my take....
COD Turn
7 COD horses attacked....they lose half the other half retreat. (4 survived)
Python Turn
All the catapults shoot.
Python attacks with their horsemen. (5 attack, only 1 retreats)
Python has a horseman in the North which also attacks (say it retreats)
Python may have additional horsemen that we could not see, and could attack because the road was built...(unknown results)
Python attacks with their the two swords to the east. (Both Die)
Python attack with their swords from the south (7 attack. 6 die. 1 takes the capital)
This is my guess at the results.
Python will want to use every available unit to protect their catapults which cannot move after firing at Siamang.
They will have only 1 sword in the city. Everthing they had left, will be put onto the catapults to protect them.
So deaths to COD ... Say 3-4 horsemen
Deaths to Python ... Say 4 horsemen, 6 swords.
Deaths to us ... 8 Mercs.
I'd say this was not a good result.
We would of faired much better had they been facing 13-16 mercs in a single city, than two cities each with 8 mercs.
Lesson learnt ... dont spilt our forces.
Allowing them to take Siamang also hurts. But mistakes happen...we play with the hand we are dealt. I am still having fun
Moving forward to the next turn...
CoD cannot attack us.
Python however ...
Can attack with 8 swords that we can see (anything better that 3 health left)
Plus the sword in Siamang (if its not too injured)
Plus any horsemen reinforcements that we cannot see.
I count 8 sources of Iron on the other continent. And they cannot be traded to our continent.
Therefore, no-one can build anymore swords/medieval infantry or knights on our continent.
All we have to worry about is rampaging horsemen covered by spearmen.
And a total of 11 swords that Python still have.
It is my guess, that they will want to protect their last few remaining swords.
They will move them into Seige??erilous (Siamang) to heal.
However, if they do attack....8 swords and maybe some horsemen.
And then when they all die...they will become desperate and attack with the remaining horse/sword/spears.
So a total of maybe 16-20 units.
(But only 8 are dangerous swords.)
We can have...
11 mercs
1 archer
3 warriors
Covered by 6 catapults
In The Holy Grill
I think the city will hold if they attack.
And if they attack... then they will kill every sword that they have left.
Most likely, they will retreat, and wait for more horsemen.
But...I would gamble, and leave everything we got in The Grill. (And actually hope that they will attack)
So..
Bomb away with the Catapults.
And fortify everything we got into The Grill.
You guys get to play the turn.
{edit} - Beta, the odds are against us if we counterattack
