Hmm a few traditionally manly things? How about using shaving with a straight razor without shaving cream? Or to build on Gepap's post having 20 different offspring but making sure they are from 20 different women. Being able to bench press 250 pounds. Run a marathon. Know the difference between a 1962 Chatau Rothschild and a 1963 plus be able to tell the difference in a blind taste test like James Bond did. Be a good shot with a rifle, go hunting, and bring back a dead animal carcuss. Being able to fart upon command (fartingon is bonus points). Be good at driving cars fast; or be good at driving/piloting any form of mechanical mode of transport (i.e. planes, boats, trains if need be). Be able to recognize all forms of venomise snakes and know instantly how to cure someone bitten by them (every movie hero knows this).

And lastly you must be able to fight off at least a dozen Naxis single handedly, while being unarmed when they have machine guns, while you all are on a speeding boat which are about to be chopped up by a ships propeller, and you must still save the girl.

Yeah, wrestling bears is pretty manly stuff.

No one has said it, but taking your son to a baseball game, even when you had planned something else and tickets are super expensive, and you have to drive for hours to get there and you're about to be sick too.. that's a job only a real man can do. And coming home for christmas.

but "man" as I think of it, involves a few things...

1. Taking responsibility for your actions... specifically, sex... any male can have a kid, it takes a MAN to be a father...

2. Good morals... stealing, murdering, etc... all bad...

3. Standing up for what you believe in... defending a friend... sticking up for an innocent, or someone who can't defend themselves.

this is kinda neat tho, i was talking to a friend yesterday about what a man is to me. To me, males can be put under 3 classifications:

Boy
guy (grown up boy)
Man

Man is the most prestigious, and few boys ever grow into men, mostly into being just guys...

The 5 criterion that must be mey in order to be a man in my eyes:

1) Fully grown. Dont neccessarily have to be tall (but tall height is more manly), just have to be at your maximum height

2) Strong/athletic. A man needs to be physically fit in order to provide for and protect his loved ones.

3) Intellegent/Wise. A man needs to be a venerable father figure, a patriarch that can share his guidance and knowledge with charisma and leadership.

4) Strong ethics/ ethical integrity. A Man needs to be a positive role moder for younger ones, and needs to set a positive example for all thos around him.

5) hairy chest. I dunno why, but ever since i was a little boy, ive considered this a symbol of manhood. you aint a man unless you have hair on your chest
