Apocalyptia renamed to Pax STYOM to reflect the glory of STYOM's benevolent overlordship.
A quick tour of the empire reveals the wretched hovels of previous warlords. Fortunately the Grand Palace of the Esteemed Warlord STYOM still stands in Pax STYOM.
(Rule clarification: Henceforth in this game, a Palace must be constructed in 'your' city during your turns, unless we do not know Masonry, or if a Palace is already present in said city. Lucky break for me this time around. If necessary, improvements may be sold, units disbanded, etc, in order for construction to be complete during your turns. Those who don't have a city, need not worry about this. Sorry, OnS. )
Hmmm. We only have 2 port cities. This could be very tricky. We also have zero Settlers right now. That'll make mining hidden specials (I see 2 around Pax STYOM, and I think one near Spare Oval) difficult.
I have no good plan. We could try to conquer the Greeks, but we have to raze all cities, except one each. That could be hard to do. So, what I think would be better is a small science and trade oriented civ. This isn't a huge map, so other civs won't get too big to tackle later. And spies do a great job of razing cities.
Some build orders changed; a few workers moved around.
550: Hides Caravan in Pax, start Library. KenobiKave is now building Settlers, not a Caravan.
525: Not much. Population hits 300K (2nd in Demography)
500: Hides Lagomorphia>Sparta, 24 g. Library rushed in Pax. Phalanx in Lagomorphia. We are building Settlers based on the assumption we can't get Colossus, and also because we need infrastructure. MPE would be nice, later on. We have 2 Hides Caravans headed towards the Greeks and Lago/Gits are both building Caravans... so in a pinch we might be able to grab MPE in either city.
475: Library in Pax; starts Temple. Science = 7 turns.
French are nearly finished Colossus.
450: Mysticism discovered; researching Literacy (for Philo and Mono; other options were Masonry, Seafaring, WarCode, and Wheel).
Colossus in Paris. Greeks change to Lighthouse; Chinese start Marco Polo, which would be handy for us to have, IMO.
425: Rush Temple in Pax.
400: Temple in Pax; start Caravan.
Egyptians start Great Wall.
375: Gits' Hole builds Silk Caravan, starts Settler.
350: French start Marco Polo's Embassy.
325: Caravans arrive at Gits' Hole, to be used either as fodder for a Wonder there, or shipped north (Silk) or East (Hides)... I leave that decision to the next player.
Not much happened, except for a little growth and some shameless favouritism involving my own city The barbs left us alone, and I did no exploring to speak of. I still like the idea of growing our cities past size 8 and then trading like crazy until the KGB Espionage is discovered.
Still 10 turns per player for now. Feel free to delay Masonry, but ultimately, we'll need it to grow, of course. He who discovers Masonry must build a Palace

325 BC (0) -- Do a little readjustment; search for Slowville, but only see ashes (sniff!)
300 BC (1) -- Keno builds a settler, switches to camel activity
275 BC (2) -- Lago makes a camel (which heads north) swith Git's activity to a dip...
250 BC (3) -- Discover Lit, on to Phil. Cash in 4 camels...
225 BC (4) -- Git's Hole builds Marco Polo's Embassy (French abandon, Chinese switch to Great Wall); French start Great Library on their turn. not too many techs of interest -- no reason for us to swap now.
200 BC (5) -- Move a couple of units -- am also partial RB 5 shields/turn for a couple of camels, inching them along in these days of cheap economy.
175 BC (6) -- Only item of note is the light house in Sparta (Hmmm ... perhaps a future city for us? I'll take it if someone has a chance to pick it up on the free market before I get around to playing again.)
150 BC (7) -- Chinese land near Keno -- (they have 3 spears) do we want to trade Lit away for Masonry (no) -- WAR. We respond by pushing Keno's horse deeeeeep into the red zone, but the warrior + fool on the hill are now no more. Sad K J pops out a settler.
125 BC (8) -- Barbs are sailing in near Keno -- hey the fun never ends (maybe there is some sort of cosmic equality going on here...)
100 BC (9) -- Barb Archers (at least two + something else) land near Keno; the horse is healing, solidly in yellow for now.
75 BC (10) -- Discover Phil -- opt for Mono over Mas (which just about everybody knows), Med, Rep, & WC; Get Mono, & opt for Rep over Mas, Med, Sea, WC, & Wheel. Hmmm, techs were officially coming in at 8 turns, but a little growth gave us the gain in 7. Is it worth slowing down the rate & picking up some extra knowledge? Why not.
After the great trading round, we gain Masonry, Construction, Wheel, Warrior Code, Iron Working, & give away Philosophy, Pottery, Construction, Monarchy, (had to give the Babylonians Map to see officially where they were) but decided to not let go of Monotheism just yet.
Ten turns ago we had 14 techs & led the world -- now we have 21 techs, but it will take 22 turns for the next discovery. Almost allied with Egyptians and almost again with the Babs (but they wanted Mono, & we decided to delay that bit of information.
The Greeks have 6 spears, 10 cities; French 5 spears, 8 cities; (we're next with six cities) Chinese (also at war with France -- we chatted & they offered a cease fire, but we declined -- they didn't come back with cash, so we really don't care.) have 3 spears & 4 cities; Egypt has 2 spears and 5 cities; Babylonians have 1 spear and 3 cities; and the Mongols, might Mongols are bringing up the rear as their one city is smaller than the barbarian city only a few spaces away!

75 bc (0)
Sliders adjusted to 70-30-0 gives us net 21 g and 46 turns to Republic
Change Lagomorphia production orders to Library (though the floor plans that I have seen have me wondering about the architect. This "Library" has a very grand design , I would think it could be transformed into a Palace at a later date ...if my successor should decide to do so of course )
Interturn:
Barbs outside of Kenobicave move - lone Archers to Mountain, Archers and Leader (the hidden unit my predecessor referred to ) move to Grassland
50 bc (1)
Attack Barb Archer (and Leader ) with Kenobicave Horsemen (Horse wins, though it is in the red); Loss of leader as I didn't think we could afford to have two archers attack the city and I didn't like the odds against archer on mountain prepared for criticism if others dissagree
Rush remainder of Caravan in Spare Oval as we have some future production ideas for Spare Oval
Change orders in Kenobicave from Caravan to Warrior (as I suspect we may lose on to the Barbs )
Interturn:
Barb Archers attack Kenobicave and kill a warrior defender (Population decrease from 5 to 4); Barb is left in the red...still on the mountain though
25 bc (2)
Spare Oval completes copper caravan and starts Palace construction (the People beleive that Pax STYOM has benefitted too greatly from having the palace there, and choose Spare Oval as the most logical choice to replace it.......and if you disagree....go build your own palace! )
Crusaders from Pax STYOM arrive in Kenobicave and easily finish off Barb Archers on Mountain; Promoted to veteran for their efforts
Interturn:
Chinese develop Mathematics
1 AD (3)
Not much happens, caravans move that's about it
Interturn:
French Government overthrown, a check of the Foreign Ministry tells me that they are now in Monarchy (not sure what they were in before though)
20 AD (4)
Git's Hut completes Spice Caravan
Settlers between Kenobicave and Pax STYOM complete mining of hidden special, River becomes Pheasant Forrest River
Hides Caravan from Lagomorphia outside Sparta (Hides no longer demanded )
Interturn:
Babylonians overthrown (again a check of the Foreign Ministry reveals them to now be in Monarchy)
Egyptians develop Monarchy
40 AD (5)
Hides caravan from Lagomorphia arrives in Sparta (which as I said above no longer demands it but I delivere anyway, for a trade bonus of 14 Gold )
Interturn:
French develop mathematics
60 AD (6)
Not much happens
Interturn:
Babylonians start Great Library
Babylonians acquire Mysticism from the Egyptians
Egyptians acquire Construction from the Babylonians
Babylonians and Egyptians sign a peace treaty
80 AD (7)
Sliders adjusted to 30-70-0 (as we now have enough money for a "special project" I have been working on
Net Income= 10 G, Discoveries take 22 turns
Interturn:
No reports
100 AD (8)
Spice from Git's Hole arrives in Sparta (42 Gold)
Horsemen from Kenobicave explore to the North
Rush remainder of Palace in Spare Oval (152 Gold)
Attempted to sell palace in Pax STYOM results in the following message:
"You cannot sell your palace, although you may relocate it by ordering another city to buld one"
* Sparrowhawk has never tried to sell a palace before, but I thought it was worth a try
Interturn:
No reports
120 AD (9)
Spare Oval completes Palace
Population of now exceeds 600 000 people
Spare Oval Copper arrives in Lagomorphia 24 Gold
Pax STYOM Hides arrive in Delphi (Greek) 76 Gold
Interturn:
No reports (AI have moved regularly, but they are strangely quiet...more on this below)
140 AD (10)
Pax STYOM completes Silver Caravan; Still producing another Caravan
Settlers complete highway between Spare Oval and Sad King Julius (including road on Mountain Gold that is not currently in use but should be very soon)
That's it for me, not a lot happened, Palace construction took a lot of resources, didn't leave a lot for much else.
We are just over half way to Republic (new discoveries take 21 turns)
We have 189 Gold in our treasury, and Jrabbit should have a fairly easy time to produce a Palace if he converts the partially built Library in Lagomorphia
The Foreign Minister reports that we are Moderate (oops, we were Strong before) and that the Chinese have passed us on the powergraph
I was reluctant to talk to the AI as they are mainly hostile towards us, though this is different for me then SP, I would talk to them anyway, demand tribute anyway, and if they declare war, talk to them again in a couple turns and often get gold for a cease fire. However, playing this game i do not want to cause a war so I avoided talking to them altogether and to be honest, I am prepared for the opinions, but I don't understand this change in strategy either
* Sparrowhawk passes the torch of Leadership to Jrabbit , looking forward to my next turn already

The year is 140 AD and King Lagomorph takes stock of the realm. We have a grand total of 6 cities and 600,000 ppl with a tax rate of 30-70-00, yielding 10 GP/turn and a tech rate of 20. We're at war with the Chinese and French. We share our island with the Greeks, and have maps of 3 distant civs
Our tech list (studying for The Republic) does not look strong, but neither does anyone else's (thank you MPE!). We have 189 GP in the treasury and need infrastructure badly. Tha means temples, roads, etc. some trade routes would be nice, too. As would Navigation (missing Math, Astrono, and Seafaring).
Prior to our 10 turns, we buy the required Palace (Thanks, Sparrowhawk! ) and add incremental shields to all 5 camels currently in production. Treasury dips to 55 GP and we press Enter...
160 AD
Warlordian capital moves to Lagomorphia.
KenobiKave disbands a warrior to speed camel, regain lost shield.
Sad King Julius now size 3
Lagomorphia starts Temple, decides a little Xinning will help that tech rate...
180 AD
Bylonians learn Republic, but won't trade. Greeks learn math, start Oracle.
French (supreme) ask to chat, demand Monotheism. Declined. They declare WAR.
PaxSTYOM disbands a warrior.
200 AD
Chinese learn Literacy, change their WoW project from GW to GL.
Sad King Julius builds copper camel, heads for Pax STYOM where it's demanded. Starts temple.
Git's Hole hides completed, pointed to demanding Delphi. Market started.
220 AD
Babylonians turn Republic.
Egypt completes Great Library of Thebes. French, Chinese, Babylonians all switch to Great Wall.
240 AD
French learn Republic, Egyptians learn from GL. None will trade techs.
Git's Hole grows to size 5, complete with civil disorder and a panicky mayor.
Pax STYOM builds spice van, points it at Lagomorphia.
Spare Oval completes crusader, disbands superfluous warrior, starts Temple.
Pax STYOM joins xinning effort.
260 AD
Chinese build Great Wall of Shanghai. Egyptians, Babylonians, French all switch to Oracle.
KenobiKave kamel loaded with Beads, demanded in Spare Oval and Lagomorphia. Temple started.
Lagomorphia temple completed.
280 AD
Egyptians learn seafaring.
Chinese trireme spotted outside KenobiKave.
300 AD
We Finally Learn The Republic!!! Insta-revolt. Lagomorph declared Consul.
Choices are Banking, Feudalism, Medicine, and Seafaring -- We take Seafaring.
Git's Hole hides to Delphi pays 48 GP.
Temples purchased in Git's Hole, Sad King Julius. Sliders moved to 00-20-80.
320 AD
French and Chinese sign peace treaty with each other -- but not with us!
Egyptians build the Oracle of Memphis. French, Greeks, Babs all abandon their thoughts of a WoW.
Empty Chinese trireme viciously attacks KenobiKave. And dies in ignominy.
W; The Consul Day celebrated in Pax STYOM, Git's Hole, Sad King Julius.
Pax STYOM silver (d) delivered to Git's Hole = 60 GP.
340 AD
Lagomorphia joins celebration, starts settlers
Chat with Chinese, who graciously accept our gift of The Republic and grant a cease-fire. No peace treaty, but we do trade Philosophy for Mathematics.
The French demand a chat, but are not nearly as nice as in real life. They boast of their Supreme status and demand Mono again. We decline. The declare war again.
360 AD
French become a Republic.
Our population reaches 1.02 MM.
SKJ copper delivered to KenobiKave, 22 GP. (Pax STYOM lost its demand.)
Consul Lagomorphia, realizing he has overstayed his welcome, retires.
Growth is soon coming to an end, as we have few roads, no boats, and no aqueducts. It's an OEDO hot-year, so my Jedi successor should consider wisely before he begins.
BTW, sorry about the lack of funds for your Palace, obiwan. Good luck with that!
