In the case of this thread... I forgot to rename it for the proper week. If it's still around next week... I'll rename it or start a new one

Well Auburn deserved to win. It has been a long time since I have seen holes blown in a defensive line that often in a game. They mauled us. The only solace that I can take is that the Vols didn't quit. They fought on the entire game. They almost pulled a tie out in the 4th quarter on sheer determination.

The boys on the Plains seem to have put it together after the shaky start. They are now my favorites for the SEC West(replacing LSU). They looked good enough last night to run the table.

The good news is that with the Florida loss, then a win against Georgia next week will most likely propel the Vols to the SEC East championship!!

Every game against a Division I opponent, they did beat Illinois State. But no, I think he'll win the last two games of the year against Idiana and Northwestern and save his job.

Even though I despise them, Michigan seems to go out of their way to please me. First, they drop two games to effectively take themselves out of the national title hunt. Then, they score 31 points in the fourth to come back and beat previously undefeated Minnesota, thereby ensuring that another Big Ten team is out of the national title hunt. Can the Wolverines beat OSU later this year and completely end the Big Ten's national title hopes? We'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, it's a big day today in college football. Miami vs. Florida State. Oklahoma vs. Texas. Georgia vs. Tennessee. Should be fun. If only I could watch the games...

All is lost in Knoxville. It's getting ugly. Georgia is laying it on the Vols. Tempers are flaring and Georgia continues to score at will. They have over 40 now and before it's through I may wish I was a Texas fan.

And for the first time since I was 4 months old, Mizzou has defeated Nebraska. My only regret was that I had to watch on television.

Ending an undefeated season. Doesn't quite make up for the kick, but is close.

Well at least John T will be happy with the Dawgs effort.

The days events definately puts UGA in the driver's seat for the SEC East. The West will probably come down to Auburn/LSU. I just don't see Arkansas in the mix at the end.

Of course Georgia still has both Auburn and Florida left while Tennessee has the hard part of their SEC schedule behind them. If UGA loses both, the UT has the tie breaker with Florida (How's that for wishful thinking!!)

Thanks Drake. At least your guys put on a good show for 3 quarters. Tennessee is really looking pitiful now. 2 weeks in a row that they are getting it handed to them.

Interesting results today on Nebraska and OSU. Not too many unbeatens left for this time of year, with FSU, LSU, Arkansas, and Minnesota going down. Pretty amazing that 6 unbeatens bit the dust. I guess that leaves 3 credible unbeatens left.

This was the first day in month that it wasn't painful to watch ND. ND just kept running the counter after they saw that Pitt was shooting the gaps. Relentless. The last ND drive to finish out the game was something like 10 minutes. With Julius Jones running 261 yards, he was exhausted by the middle of the third quarter.

Sounds like Colorado's ass whipping of Nebraska a couple years back. Never seen so many counters in a game before (or that much yardage racked up by said counters).

Not only wishful thinking, but bizarre as well: UT wins the SEC East by beating the team they never beat while losing to the team they always lose to (0-for-the-millennium, and yes, I do remember the Lost Years of 91-99, the Jan Kemp years before salvation came in the form of Coach Richt.)

And I'm glad FL beat LSU for a couple of reasons:

1. Payback. Sorry dawgdamned LSU bastards.
2. Shows UGA that FL isn't a pansy just because UGA beat TN who beat FL.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: I have never, never been impressed with Casey Clausen as a quarterback.

OH THANK HEAVENS OF MERCY, OHIO FREAKIN' STATE FINALLY LOST! Now the pollsters can bump them down to #18 where they actually belong.

UGA plays Vandy next week, and I honestly think that it is irrelevant if GA has a case of the big-game win blues, there is no way they're going to lose to a team that lost to Navy 37-27.

Another nice thing about today is that the three teams ahead of Georgia all lost. WE'RE BACK IN THE TOP FIVE, BABY!!!!! WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!

*Back in 1998 Lee actually said that he will die before Georgia beats both TN and FL in the same year. The stupid SOB has until November 1st to set his affairs in order, but I bet he'll just continue working unaware of his vow to God and Man.
