And is there some kind of inside joke with the Viking smilie that I do not get?? Because I usually do not understand the context that people would use it.

Perhaps we should ensure that only non-denominational teddy bears are used.

Or, we could plant crosses in the yards of these obnoxious atheists, then organize mass prayer gatherings right outside their homes . . . . . .

How about erecting a giant memorial for Mary McCarthy? We could even enlist the Mormons to save her post-mortem.

As an atheist, I would certainly support the placement of very large teddy bears on dangerous bends, filled with shock-absorbing material and fitted with airbags.

I can see a problem with big steel crosses on concrete plinths.

I think crosses and teddy bears by the sides of roads are a good idea. Remind drivers of what can happen if they drive dangerously.

Boy, this has gotten troll-eriffic.

The gay-student expulsion thing was pretty daft and off-topic, but just to add my nail to the coffin, the school was in the wrong. The kid wasn't having sex at school or anything; so far as I can tell, he was merely admitting that his compass pointed south. He wasn't technically expelled for anything but an unusual but harmless state of being, it seems. No genuinely disruptive conduct or speech.

I have already been hit once, trollboy, and luckily only my bike and wallet were damaged, cuz the puke who hit me wouldn't pay. I've come close to being hit a few other times, including last night.

Stop attacking the queers! Being gay is not a choice, yet being the anti-christ is!

Technically, them crosses and stuff could be considered littering... What if I want to put an old couch or refridgerator there as a sign of my morning?

I think I will do that!

Hey Chegitz -- for some strange reason, I get the perception that I upset you somewhat.

First off -- I never advocated burning crosses in my JOKE, KKK style.

Secondly -- using anti-gay slurs to counter-troll my trolls is not within the art of trolling -- it's just pathetic.

Thirdly -- next time you call me a conservative, I'm going to call you a capitalist.

And finally, NEVER, NEVER put me in with people of the likes of Jerry Falwell.

I do not have problems with atheists -- I have problems with any group of people who have blatant disrespect for the freedom and dignity of other people.

Let's see, here's the reasoning on this thread.

"Oh, we should be allowed to break the law because we're Christians and we're sad."

Here is a copy of the Constitution of the United States. Perhaps you'd like to read it sometime.

Too bad, so sad, it doesn't say if Christians are really sad, the government can ignore the 1st Amendment.

It's under the 1st Amendement, the part about not being able to establish religions, which means no religious displays can be put up on public property.

Crosses have been specifically forbidden by every court ruling for the past 30+ years.

Wrong. Atheists like me are actually most atheists. OF COURSE he is going to have a problem with atheists who try to impose their atheism on others. I only have a problem with religious people who try to impose their religion on others. His view is moderate and rational.

That means the STATE cannot establish a religion. Doesn't mean a memorial to a person that happens to have a religious symbol on it is illegal.

By the way, chegitz, do you think we should demolish all of those cross-shaped tombstones at the Arlington National Cemetary? And the Star-of-David ones too? You know, the cemetary where American soldiers (and some presidents) are buried?

You have a huge problem then at Arlington National Cemetary and a few hundred other public cemetaries. Of course a 'concerned' atheist is suing Las Cruces New Mexico for crossing the forbidden line so what the heck, maybe even San (Saint) Francisco will be declared illegal. Stranger things have happened...

So individual citizens cannot express their religion?

What do you say to a teenager in a public high school who is wearing a WWJD t-shirt? Are you going to tear the shirt off of him because it violates our constitution?

Any student that blatantly violates the seperation of church and state by even thinking about wearing a T-shirt like that needs to be crucified in the public square. Oh wait, we wouldn't be allowed to put a cross there. Okay, never mind...
