I thought I try out some translucent arrows like xiaodave used in his civ3 story thread.
The map shows the initial invasion of Azan by FCL and Hive forces.

ok on the hoshem highway issue, here is the sequence of events from previosu thread Hive Armmoured Divisions to East of Tel Azan ...
"Roll out then, i want groups 1 through 9 with me to relieve our comrades in Concept, 10 through 14 lay waste to Ronya and 15 through 25 you guys get the fun part..."
auldonina and Azan had the whole area well under control fro mearlier psots, so this rush of Hive was met by this response ...
"sir, the hive are rushing down the highway straight toward our positions."
"good , HQ have been informed of their positinos by Satellite and missiles have been targeted. Now they in the open and no longer hiding behind the locals we can once again start our aerial bombardment. We have given their positions to all the alliance and are hoping the Alliance will send their bombers. If this advance is stopped it will signal a major turning point in the war."
"Sir what about the Hive airforce."
"They are too busy attemtping to bomb tel Azan and the Harbour, they will have little left to stop the combined missions of the allies. we will have our defence of Tel Azan as our highest prioroty , but the allies airforce should be able t oget through and begin blasting the Hive armour as it drives along the road"
Corporal Jones sat with his back to "his"tank. th erest of the paltoon were still dressing, the orders had been given last night and the whole armoured corps were to be on the move again, each battalian had been given its targets.
as he rolled his last cigarette for conceivably the rest of the day, he heard the buzz overhead. He knew wha *** was, the ships and missile bases in western apolyton had fired.... The missiles were on their way....
In the distance he heard the explosions . the ground shook with such violnecethat he was knocked off his butt onto his side. tents many people walking also fell over.
After the round of misisles had finished he heard and saw the planes flying over. The B2 squadrons were fully loaded.
He crossed himself and felt a slight bit of remorse for the hive armoured divisions, he would rather face them off tank to tank then to see them suffer from that wave of attacks.
He heard the shout from ahead and th eorder wasgiven to mount the machine. Bodies were seen running and entering the tanks and the diesels all roared to life....
"To the memory of General Hogan" came the call over the airwaves......
And the 121St Div was mobile and so were all the other divisions and battalsions in fact the whole corp..... This was for revenge....
Hives repsonse was to agree where their forces were,,,
eh Ras my main armour columns are nowhere near Tel Zach.
Azazel, you've posted the push past Hoshem but one of those green arrows was a large force heading smack into your group going down that highway
Tese being preciesley the armoured corps we had bombed the crap out of . as not ocne had we said we near tel zach
Of course the next hive response was the X bomb ...

I've made a few maps of troop movements for posterity.
The opening blitzkrieg.
