I probably won't be in the big DM game tomorrow-- there's a local Soap Box Derby race for most of the day, and I got drafted into helping run the thing.

I got the first page of the Codex. My intelligence is now higher. I am the smartest dwarf of all

Those goblin legchoppers on the island really do chop legs. But now I have one of their axes for myself

I even killed a dragon in those caves (called rumbling caves) on that island. I'm not sure what kind of dragon he was. He seemed kind of weak. And I got 2 criticals on him.

And I blew my 26000 gold on some fancy new armour, belt, and gloves. The shield I got from the dragon. No money for boots unfortunately.

Those druids or whatever have some good equipment. I salivate when I see their selection. Some really nice armour, but you have to be level 11 to use it. I got the level 9 armour.

The one thing I didn't like about the original campaign is that once I had gotten a +3 whatever in almost all categories of equipment the game could just as well have been over. Then again, I liked the mindless Diablo II....

Good - this is working then. He's supposed to be harder depending on your level. The game's not designed to kill your character every 5 minutes. Hope you picked up the dragon's diary. As for gold, I have plenty of jobs you can do for me for cash (made up quests to test areas with different levels, classes etc )

Who's is the new dwarf joined today? Thornbeard or something? He's cool

I was getting pissed at those gnome shamans or whatever. For some reason I kept rolling 1's and 3's for my will saves I even took the Iron will feat to help my will saves out. Lot of good it does when I keep rolling low numbers. I died like 3 times to those things. All I was trying to do was reach level 9... I was running solo at the time. This game can be tough when going solo. I keep forgetting to pick up those ogre companions. I'm curious how they work exactly.

And yeah I notice the game does scale to your level. But it can be tough occasionally. Like I said, those legchoppers really will chop you up. I can take on one or 2. But when I left there were like 4 of them. I ran like hell

Yeah... I reccommend you get a nice companion of some sort. Either a cleric or a mage is great to have behind your shoulder casting spells. Its not really aimed at solo play in most areas.

which tavern owner was that? I don't think I've been to a tavern yet. maybe I'll go back and see if I can get another one.

I sold it for 1 or 2 gold pieces. That's almost 100,000 gold. better than nothing

That's it basically. Your henchmen are real people, and do MORE stupid things... but at least there's always someone there with a raise dead scroll

Its more tactical, as you have to work as a team to avoid being crushed.

Its not a bug. Some arsehole is uing your CD key to play online. Call customer support and get furious.

Maintainance is partly automated, partly the owners (2 guys in California) and partly just resetting the module every so often. Creation is a team of 5 people including yours truely with new areas added as they're finished.

Its a nice community effort.

Long story no-one cares about:
It turns out I had one of the NWN SOU boxes where the key was on a looseleaf sheet stuck inside the box (were they all like that?). The SOU box was one of the 5 or 6 I didn't throw. I had forgotten this so I plugged in my old HDD and got the key from the CDkey.ini file (smart designers!). I transposed one of the keys in copying (install was done using something unmentionable here). Anyways, it's all good now (the website took the key) and all I need is HOTU!

Up to fighter level 9. Probably going to take one more level of fighter (to pick up WW Attack and +2 to Intimidate), then switch to Weapon Master.

I've been blundering my way through the areas north of Hawkmoon Vale, beating on ogres and ettins and such. Maybe I'm strong enough to take on those ants in the Chittering Highway now.
