Can elves really avoid traps while in full run, Jamski? I played quite some elven characters (at the moment a cleric in the first HotU chapter), and I'm not very impressed by this ability. IMO Keen Senses makes only one Search throw per round and in full run your elf moves farther in the time of a round, than the range of this ability goes. So you still will run into traps on not so rare occasions. To avoid it completely, you have to slow down, e.g. by pressing Shift, and move just as slow as humans would. There still are places, where this ability is useful. For instance, to find secret doors, where a human would need to go into search mode.
On a sidenote, what servers are you guys playing at? I never tried MP, but might like it. Would you give me some startup info?

Well, I avoid them in full run 90% of the time. I mean, everyone stops a bit sometimes to see if there are any monsters round the corner anyway, or to pick up an item. Yes, its great for secret doors, because even if you fail the search check, you still see the dice roll in the txt box so you know its there.
Folderol is 68.50.86.146:5121 and its listed on Gamespy too. There's quite a few from 'poly there, and the server is fixed now *bliss* You'll need the CEP, but doesn't everyone have that anyway?
As for MP, there's three kinds :
Deathmatch - player vs player fights *yawn*
Group adventure - players working though a module together
Persistant world - basically a free MMORPG
I say go with the PW unless you have a group of people you already know, and a module you want to play together.

Bear with me. Tell me what you do in an evening's play in a standard PW.
Edit: And correct me if I am wrong, but lots of small (or relatively low populated) worlds is different from the standard MMORPG setup right?

Most PWs have some kind of unique dying system. Some send you to heaven or hell, and you have to do a task to be reborn, some make you wake up back in the temple, some just force you to lie there dead for 3 or 4 minutes.
Most monsters in PW are spawned when the PC(s) walk on invisible triggers. The trick is placing these so the PC never works out where the trigger points are *winks* and then the go inactive for a set time. In Folderol most "normal" critters are on a 8 minute timer and most bosses on either 30mins or an hour. Loot tends to respawn about every 15 minutes.
One thing to bear in mind - the PWs of NWN are NOT designed, created, maintained or run by the creators of NWN. They are ALL fan-made. This is one reason why there are so many. The quality is in almost all instances better than the 3 Bioware modules (NWN, SoU, HotU) since they run on a kind of "constant patching" process. If a player wants to smoke a pipe in the module - well, the creators might add a smokeable pipe!
Its all pretty hard to explain unless you go and look. There's a whole rainbow of worlds to explore and people to meet

Ok... say I log on. I'm back where I logged off, unless the module has reset during that time (has to happen sometimes) in which case I'll be nearby where I logged off, but in a spot the game knows is safe. Normally, I'll still have my weapons equipped, any spells still in effect and so on. Ok, what now? I'll open up the players panel (p) and look to see who else is about. I might send some a message "Hey! I logged back on in the Swamps! Can you get a team together and come out here, because I'm solo, and there's no way I'll survive here on my own!"
5 minutes later there's a blaze of fireballs, and the rescue is there. I say thanks, and together we clear out the swamp and kill the baddies before returning to the city.
Back in the city I meet my arch rival! Some insults are thrown, and soon swords are drawn. Sadly I get hacked down in seconds, but my new friends from the swamp come to my rescue, raise me and help me win the fight. Hurrah!
They have to go to sleep now, but one of my buddies is in the city. He spots me and invites me to a party (not the dancing kind, the adventuring kind) and suggests we go to defeat the evil dragon Xxxzzzoth.
Bleh, you get the idea. Some severs would have that all happen in character. "Prithee! Mine halfling neck is near covered by the stench of this swamp water! I beg of thee, tall folks, come to my aid!" Some servers are not "Hey guys... I am like so STUCK here. I logged on in the swamp on my own"
