FlameFlash: when our turns come we should find Biogen in the diplobox. They told me that their research is done.

Mart: you're right, they received it when they opened the turn and switched to Biogen, but they have a problem for the next beeline they wanted is not available (don't know which one that was, I suppose for going to Gene Splicing, but that's just a guess). They might start Doc:Mob now if a poll in their faction decides so.

If we have the opportunity, I propose to go for AdapEcon after ProgPsych (for the PEG). IF they choose to research Doc:Mob, Illu said that it could take 8-10 turns. Time enough for us to (almost) finish another research. If we can count it out perfectly we might be able to receive Doc:Mob the turn we finish AdapEcon... is better for our research costs.

by getting Doc: Flex and having IA we're going to be fairly close to Doc: Ini and Doc: Air.

Might that be one route to go so we can get a jump on the Hive and take them out?

Won't be when I'm around I guess, but the Hive is not to be tackled alone. I think our strength over them is trying to put them to war on another team... let's say the one being highest in the ranking.

Sth else: since that Hive Synth will be blocked in 3 years time, we might consider it our future 'upgrade' to synthmetal units.

Okay, did some checking with the diplomacy screen, these are the results:

The Gaians and Spartans have met for sure, neither of them can be offered the comlink for one another.
Illu let slip that they had 'other ways' to acquire Applied Physics, which must be the Spartans then since those have that tech as well. But this also means that the Gaians and Spartans can, but haven't yet, trade Doc:Mob.

Morgans don't have ApPhys nor ProgPsych, and haven't met the Gaians yet. I think it's save to assume that those are on the north of the Hive then.

I wonder, could we perhaps try to persuade the Gaians to trade the Spartan com freq and some energy for ApPhys?

Also, there are five techs we have the Spartans haven't: the three Industrial ones, Biogen and ProgPsych. They are definitely on the conquer research path then. Infiltrating them should be our second priority (next to the Hive ).

Spartan Commlink + something else sounds good. And is worth this much as long as we do not have a foil to go meet Spartans ourselves.

There is yet another possibility - if Gaians get mobility, then we can trade it with them.
App Physics for Mobility.

From our perspective it is better if Gaians get Mobility from Spartans instead of getting Applied Physics.

I already hinted ApPhys for DocMob to Illu on Eventis, he responded with the present DocMob for DocFlex agreement.

Haven't been able to access Eventis since this afternoon though, so don't know if he reported this possibility to the other Gaians or not. He literally stated that they have another possibility of getting ApPhys. The Spartans no doubt, so I suppose they might try for the faction who asks the least.

I'm unsure whether the Spartans now we're in contact with the Gaians, but it's bound to be known. Also, the present lengthy discussions going on in the Spartan camp could indicate a trade proposal between Gaians and Spartans.

I agree that the Spartan comfreq is a must have as long as we can't contact them ourselfes.

So, with your backup I start negotiations then around the Spartan comfreq.

A response (from Illu), and it's negative. I stop further negotiations since we don't have anything more to offer then ProgPsych, and I think we agree that it's unwise to give up our leg on the PEG beeline.

As many ec's with the Spartan comlink. But his latest response was AP for comlink. Probably a way to get somewhere in the middle, but one never know.

But do YOU guys feel comfortable with me trying to get the Spartan comlink? And is AP as price too high for you or not?

And as a second note: am I asking too much for AP? Don't have much trading experience in SMAC, so the respective values of things are not too clear to me.

Applied Physics tends to be a tech you think you can skip to save research costs. I thought 20 ecs was a reasonable request for a tech at this level. If we establish treaty with Spartans at least we can earn some extra ecs. Those extra ecs from a treaty and for the trade might help us rush those crawlers.

I suggest 15 ecs but no lower than 10ecs along with Spartan Comm for AP.

Trading PP is a no no atm.

The deal as Illu says it:

Coming (2142) turn the Gaians put 15 energy and the Spartan comlink in the diploscreen. Illu is also willing to forward their screenshot of our eastern continent already.

In return we put Applied Physics in it and accept the deal.


This means thus that only the turn after (2143) we receive the energy and the comlink, for they have to accept it when it's incoming. We have the screenshot initially, which gives us an idea on how far they have scouted the eastern part before meeting us and retreating.

This sounds ok to me. Anyone with objections or remarks?
