quote: Hey, if you'd gone in for a more balanced fleet and the same OOB, Boshko would have been absolutely owned. The only reason you suffered as badly as you did was that with no lasers or fighters, you had nothing to prevent his ships from ripping you apart in the four rounds you weren't firing.
EDIT: Not to mention that he'd probably have gone down completely if he hadn't been Spread Out vs. your torps. 36 hits on the first round would have made taking him down the rest of the way a trivial matter. |
Yes, I know. I wasn't whingeing, just feeling sorry for myself over my own tactical mistakes and the fact that I was counting on Boshko to build more laser ships. That and I'm very peeved that my first set of orders, which you ignored just like you should have, contained instructions to build fighter dreadnaughts. I guess I still haven't quite understood the combat system yet - what use does it have to have one fighter dreadnaught blasting away at his ships if he's got, say, three laser dreadies on the same turn? It'll result in eradication in any case, because he'll have more ships than I do on that turn. A few fighter and laser ships wouldn't have done me really that much good.
