Prime Minister sat in his office watching a live holovid depicting the assault to capture Social Engineering Den base. Angels' top commanders and advisors were also present. Commandant Sider Roze of the Guardians stood silently but you could sense her pride as she observed the base's aerocomplex being dismantled by a probe commando squad. Then defending forces were exposed to the combined arms of the Angel military.
With the fall of Social Engineering Den, everybody in the room knew that the 'Horde' has been broken.
Within the chambers of the Council and the motley Parliment, a debate raged over the war. Certain dovish factions felt that the Hive has been punished enough while those of more hawkish persuasion insisted on pressing on until Chairman Yang has been brought to justice.
Reports of lobbyists of the military hardware industry violating lobbying laws has appeared all over the Net. There were also speculations that perhaps the contractors wanted to see the war to continue so they could test new hardware being developed in experimentary labs.
A top Angel diplomat stands before a holovid in the main government communication center. He is there to contact a head of one of the Seven Factions. The face of the Atlantean ambassador appeared. "Yes, Ambassador Aeolus? How are you and what brings you to the Kingdom?"
Aeolus smiles and reply "Sir, thank you for asking. I am good and I would like very much to convey my congratulations to our new Planetary Governess personally."

"Sir, they continue to be unreasonable and refuse to even consider our proposals as usual." a holographic face floating in the air, the uniform visible on his shoulder shows him as a Talent from the diplomatic corps, said.
Sighing, the Prime Minister nod, "Thank you, at least we can truthfully say that we tried our best. Cease all negotiations and pull out your people immediately."
Since the fall of a major Hive stronghold in Hive Proper, Angels knew that the backbone of the Hive military has been broken. Due to growing dissent among the Council from those more dovish, the state decided to attempt to negiotate with Chairman Yang and offer him an opportunity to surrender unconditionally. The idea was to end the war right away and place the Human Hive under an occupation of Angel's thought police to prevent a revenge attack. Other than that, they were going to be free to do whatever they wish with their own internal affairs.
However negiotators from the Hive has been unreasonable, insisting that Data Angels themselves surrender and return all former Hive bases including those that they have captured from the Angels.
Despite this, repeated opportunties has been given to the Hive to end the war on Angels' terms. Opportunties that the Chairman Yang refused. Surely this show the proof of his madness?
Outside of Fecundity Tower, few months later
"Who would have thought it?" Sergeant Boorstiu commented to a soldier next to him. They stood on a ridge overlooking the isthmus leading to the only remaining Hivean stronghold.
A grizzled veteran of those long decades of Hive-Angel war, he lost friends and family at Alphaville when Hivean forces captured the base. He survived the furious and bloody seige of the fortifications at the Devil's Gates outside of the Spot back in the darkest hour of the war where it appeared that everything was lost for the Angels.
Back then if someone told him he would be with his men outside of the last Hivean stronghold, preparing to launch an assault, he would have thought that person a fool.
Yet here he is, looking at the low profile of the Hivean base.
"Hey, sir, look!" a troop pointed.
Looking upward along the direction of the pointing finger, the sergeant watched the dark dots in the horizon gradually becoming larger and larger. He was not concerned, those days, the Angels has the complete control of the skies.
Eventually he could make out the distinct shapes of Fiery Raphael and Raguel squadrons heading for the Hivean base.
"Well, well, we all know what this means. Air power sure is nice to have but you know that us infantry do the real dirty work. Tell the rest to get ready, about the time to earn our pay!" Boorstiu commanded.
Few hours later in Alphaville among holovids
...bombarded, destroying the defense of Fecudity Towers, the last Hivean stronghold...
...attempts has been made to end the war peacefully but the Chairman refused to entertain the notion...
...here we can see Angels' infantry battalions breaking through and entering subterrean tunnels...
...light resistance reported...
...rumors has been running around that Chairman Yang himselves has been found and captured, we are trying to confirm...
