I'm thinking we'll hit 500 before nine pm eastern....maybe well before...LOL

Kid, as much fun as it is, when we DO hit five-oh-oh, I'm calling it a night.

I don't think I've laughed this much in six months, and my sides are aching.

Good stuff, but please...OH PLEASE tell me you don't really believe this stuff?

Then it'll get real ugly under your utopia too. I can assure you. Unless we wait for replicators to be invented (by the capitalists, of course) before starting the revolution.

But that won't work either, cos then what would we do for "work" ??

I guess we could all just sit around and think a lot....it's not work, but....you know.

Nah, sharing is peacefull. Forget all that killing for resources. Leave it in the past.

Leave it in the past.

Would that be the past right after all the counter-revolutionaries get crushed in one final and swift blow?

The punishment doled out by the non-totalitarian, eminantly democratic regieme?

Your schemes would involve( and a conservative estimate here,) perhaps an 8fold increase in necessary regulations and most of that in areas that government does not currently regulate at all. These means huge loopholes and in western democracies, likely large underground economies. It would be like prohibition in the US-- If the bulk of the poulace does not believe in the laws at all, they lose legitimacy and are not obeyed

But somehow....under Kid's utopian scheme....we'll magically find so many new resources that our communal job shops won't have to compete for resources.

I don't share your faith that the government gets better at things over time. In fact, it's primarily my nigh-complete lack of faith in the ability of the government to do almost ANYTHING efficiently that makes me a capitalist

And THAT, Brother Flubber, is just exactly what I'm talking about.

All this debating and razzing the Reds is good fun (gosh, I have no idea what I'll do with the rest of my evening now)...

But the fact is, I do not believe that Kid's and Che's opinions are even CLOSE to being in accord.

Probably not even in the same state....much less the same city or ballpark.

And they're not the only two with differences. HUGE, incompatible differences.

That makes global implementation a bit....troublesome, I would think.
