Thanx dude, I got them!

Now, can you tell me which city slot in your file belongs to which civ?

EG: Modern slot goes to the USA and the Far East slot goes to China, I assume?

The version I got sounds like a roar and then laser sounds. I remember that had been one of the two original sounds, with the other being the Bansai sounds. I called the one I had a 'Godzilla' file because it had a loud roar, laser beams, and was Japanese in theme. I don't know how we got different files. Maybe there's an error with the upload/download service.

@curt: Yes, those two assumptions are correct, and Medieval is Japanese, Classical is Barbarian (basically Nepal, Bhutan, Mongolia, and the Chinese Communists), Bronze Age is Thai and Dutch East Indies, Rennaissance is British India, and Industrial is Soviet.

Patine:

What OS are you using? Is it XP?

Are you using XP's built-in zip program to download files? If so, that is the problem. There is a major problem with XP's built-in download program.

Instead, download and use Winzip:

http://www.winzip.com/

Here is a zip with the Japanese sounds:

A question, if I may. I had tried initially setting the Soviets and Japanese to allied with no negotiation with a planned event to trigger aggression in May '45. However, upon alpha testing, I found that the Soviet units danced through Japanese mainland territory, blocking up roads, railroads, and attack routes, as they're entitled to do under alliance. Question is, will a no-negotiation peace treaty last until the triggered aggression, or is a 'sneak attack' very likely.

depends on how much the leaders like eachother, if it is below 20, then they will probably launch a sneak attack, at least in my experience anyways

I much prefer to have 2 neighbouring enemy civs to having an allied civ next to mine. You cannot keep the b******ds from wandering around in your territory except by lining your border with a solid wall of units. Bah, humbug!

You could use impassable terrain between Soviet and Japanese units.

Then when the USSR declares war, have an event that makes this terrain passable.

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Sorry to darken your door again, Leonidas (I do appreciate your support on this scen) but my computer must be distorting the .wav file; it just doesn't sound like a Bansai troop. That one you originally sent to me as Japsnd1.wav is the one you altered right? I kind of would prefer the one originally labelled Japsnd2.wav; that comes out on my computer as a much clearer and more obvious Bansai sound. To make it easier, I've attached the one I mean. I'd make the change myself, but I've just discovered (much to my annoyance) that the above mentioned software on my old computer does everything to a .wav file except change its bit rate. Sorry to be a pain, but if you can help me one more time, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Got spare money?

@Leonidas: Thanks a lot! That's perfect! (And this time I checked before posting).

@Broken_Erika: I will try a no-negotiation peace treaty with a decent attitude. I'm hoping it will hold until the aggression date. I'll have to have the same diplomatic sentiment between the Soviets and the other Allies, lest the Soviets declare war on Japan when Japan attacks an Allied unit or city out of alliance obligation.

@AGRICOLA: I agree with your sentiment on neighbouring allies completely! Hence why I don't want the Soviets and Japanese to start as allies.

For the LVT, perhaps use a tank sound.

For the suicide plane, a Stuka diving sound?

Already 17 pages of ideas & suggestions, dont you think time for a general preview, may be pics or beta release? Look at your scen ---> , he wants to be watched by the people, take him out from the cage.
Or do you want the final "surprise element" for your scen?

hehe, good luck with the project, seems has been very well supported and helped by the entire community in all the aspects.

cu.

Well, thanks for the vote of confidence! I'm still working on events, but most of the rest is done. There are two screenshots on the previous page (I believe, or if not they're not too far back), but the beta release isn't yet ready. Sorry, but I'll have to keep the little red guy waiting a bit longer.

Give me a little time and I will post some sounds for you for the LVT and suicide plane. Then pick the ones you like.

I have lots of military sounds on cd, so I'll go through a few and see what I can find.
