With his superior tactics, Jonny's torpedos defeated Jamski's doubly powerfuly torpedo armada.

His fighters suffered from those same tactics, however, and the combined fleet was spared only by a three to one numerical superiority.

Any admiral can turn a 2 to 1 advantage into a victory, but it takes a great one to turn it into a rout. As Jam finally relaunched his fighters, they were shot down, along with the carriers and the rest of his fleet, by a wall of lasers.

So far as hitting the F5 key, I'm a guilty party as well, constantly reloading the PM box when it's down to a few more players left to send.

Indeed we do. But you didn't use it. You have 2 anti-spy centres at start and they are not renewable.

I disagree completely.

I like the way Smiley is doing the updates, though they take a while to update, it really heightens the suspense with the way it is being updated.

(and while we are all doing the refresh thing, I think the only problem with that is load issues on Poly right?)

Sandman also had his eyes on Jamski's bases. Even though Doc and Jonny were around, that didn't seem to deter him.

Note for those who think that you're playing it safe if you don't use lots of closed-in lasers: you're wrong!

Before the first round was through, the fighters of both fleets made a final swarm as their carriers exploded. Casualties on both sides were staggering, with total losses exceeding that in the Moron-Ljube-Paddy laser duel.

The final rounds of the battle saw Dr Spike and Jonny's surviving laser ships pound furiously at Sandman's three cruisers. Sandman did shoot back, and nailed two of Doc's battleships in the process.

For a moment Jamski's ground troops hoped that all the hostile warships would go out in a blaze of glory, unfortunately for him, three Jonny dreadnaughts and 2 Doc battleships remained.

And we'll return to the final battle of the round after dinner.
