You don't have to go back to your body -- right click on the Spirit right infront of you at the graveyard and res. You take a 25% durability hit and have 10 minutes of res sickness (substantial lower stats), but that's it.

I think I might have to. I tried 2 more times. I thought I was in a safe place to resurrect myself. There were no creatures around. But as soon as I did it I was attacked. this guy wouldn't be a problem if I retrieved my body and got full health. But I only had about 100 health.

okay, I bailed myself out. That cost me several silver just to repair my items. Oh well.

I'm kind of stuck now. I need a party to get into those family tombs (though I'm not sure what is down there).

I see something about looking for group in brackets. How do I advertise LFG? I remember Everquest 2 had a LFG on the names which was kind of nice.

I was supposed to find all these people at the Mills, but I only found one person inside a house. I'm thinking they might be in the family tombs.

Asher, it sure didn't sound like your criteria was "how fun" it is to play a class to me, but if that's what you meant that's cool . I definitely agree with you on the shaman fun factor. They are incredibly flexible to play with. Also, I like getting into strength/weakness discussions because that's how I play every game. We are on a strategy gaming site you know .

Based on fun factor, I personally think all the classes are pretty fun with the exception of rogues. Stealth, stab, stab, stab, repeat. Obviously, it's a little more complicated than that, but I really don't like rogues. They're boring.

Yeah, the undead really get the shaft. They can't be hunters either. (so what if they don't need to eat... they like to hunt the living anyways, right?) and the horde allies of theirs really crimp their style. Especially the Tauren.


Undead should of been a seperate faction with abominations a playable race.

yeah I thought about undead hunter as well. Because my character does eat (I can eat mushrooms just like any other race)

I have this cool skill called cannibalize. . You get to munch on humans and humanoids. How cool is that?

On the horde side, undead is about 40% and Tauren is about 25%. Orc and Troll are much less. This is because of 2 things... for one undead and Tauren characters look cooler, and two, the undead and Tauren racial abilities are significantly better than any other races in the game.

There's a few minor things... nothing major.

AFAIK, the Orc stun resistance (or any stun resistance for that matter) is not working properly, as in you might not get a bonus at all. It's a minor minor issue though.

Most people pick alliance. This can sometimes be a bad thing, especially on PvP servers. I would go to www.warcraftrealms.com and try and pick a server with a 1:1 ratio.

Whatever class you pick, use all of your skills. Skills that I initially thought were worthless have turned out to be invaluable give the right situation. The game is incredibly well balanced and 95% of skills and talents for all classes are useful. I consistantly beat characters several levels higher than me in PvP simply because I'm better at using all of the tools available to me.

Low pop servers are much much better IMO; however, Blizzard has done something terrible in the last few days and is allowing server transfers from select high pop realms (read the laggy broken ones) to low pop realms. I personally am really worried that this is going to screw things up. I like the server the way it is now. I know a good portion of the high level players even though I'm not 60 yet. No one on our server has come even close to killing the uber hard enemies like Onyxia and I like it that way. It means that almost everyone on our server plays casually like I do and I have a chance to not to be horribly outclassed equipment wise by players who spend 10 hours a day playing.
With the server transfers enabled, Bonechewer (my server) is getting what appears to be all of the Warsong (high pop server) rejects and a fair amount of the 10 hour a day guys. I'm worried that my nice little server is gonna be overrun with *******s. We'll see how it turns out.

Finally, don't play a rogue. It's like playing on easy mode and there's a billion of them. I'm not saying they're better than other classes because they aren't. I'm saying that you seriously only have to press like 3 buttons ever to be effective, and that's dumb.

One more thing. I HIGHLY recommend that you get the Cosmos UI mod. It improves functionality in the game exponentially. I have 3 times as many menu bars now (and I need them) and there are a ton of other useful things built into it. Go to www.thottbot.com (good resource site) click any link to get to the full navigation page, then use the link to the cosmos site (I don't remember what the exact URL for cosmos is offhand).

Also, I feel like I have to share this screenshot. It looks sooo purdy. Those wisps around that tower like thing are millions of evil evil bugs, and they move and it looks awesome in game.

Tip for Cosmos: Most of the stuff it includes are crap, so take some time and play with the Cosmos options in the game...then at the character select screen click the Addons button in the bottom left and disable the stuff you don't want.

I have about 75% of Cosmos disabled.

Stop ya whinging. They've delivered the product that most people want, same as they always do. If you want a more RP oriented game then I am sure you can find something suitable.

Personally I think you lurrrrve WoW so much that's why you're annoyed the RP servers are weak.

Er... that's what I just said in the post you quoted.

Blizzard has always been the anti-thesis of roleplay, and it's stupid for me to expect it to be a good roleplaying game.

And yes, I am somewhat frustrated that the efforts of a relatively well made MMORPG has been squandered by catering to the Warcraft / Diablo audience.

Not because it is "so good" but because it is relatively good.


And perhaps I shouldn't even just call it "good" it would need good roleplay for me to consider it good - let's say it is relatively good quality, instead.

Does anyone have problems with serious choppiness in city areas? I'm curious as to whether it is lag or my computer. I don't really have a problem with it away from the cities.

I have a Pentium 4 - 2.6 Ghz, 512 mb ram, radeon 9800 pro.

I'm thinking about picking up some more ram.

There's significant load-lag from loading textures from the harddrive for crowded areas.

It's one of the games where having a harddrive RAID set up makes a big difference.
