Southrun. Go out of the city and into the desert and follow the road. On the second map, turn right. On the next map, you're looking for an enclosure. The entry is near there. Beware of the sand people, snakes, ants and some lizard thingies that aren't too difficult.

You might want to have a chat to the locals and buy some desert survival gear.

Keep checking back on the wagon guy (Peartoupeé) because his stock is affected by all kinds of crazy variables. He sometimes sells an "Iron Band of the North" for +4 CON or a "Greater Trollband" Also try "Lost and Found" in Hidden Vale for rings 'n' things. The monks are probably worth a visit for rings too. One ring in particular "Frango's Feet" is very popular for the +4 DEX. If you save 1,000,000 gold and have some Formian Iron then Kensai Ryu will make you a custom weapon. And I think you should check out all the buildings in Old Gnoma... there might be a nice hidden Rogue's Emporium/Brothel/Stuff hidden there - you can get the basic access with 8 rogue levels, but you'll need 18 to get the full range, with improved stuff at 12 rogue.
Formians should be first port of call though.
Follow the road out of Khazar in Southrun.
Go straight along the road on the first Thirst map.
Turn right at the crossroads on the second Thirst map.
Go all the way though the Jub-Jub Canyon map.
Go across the next map to the enclosure in the opposite corner.
Go down to Formian Fun!

I dyed that helmet in my avatar red, now it matches my "armor"

But the formians are now enriched to the tune of 700k gold pieces, got a couple things I can't use yet, but I'll make another 3 levels eventually and they'll coincide with my next feat too I think

Edit: And I have so much gear I'm not sure which permutation is the best

You can figure several viable ones. For planes mashing later you'll want a config with freedom, and another with immunity to knockdown etc.

Yeah, I do have some configurations that I already use, but since I'm lazy I like having a general purpose one that I can use most of the time (which generally feature haste and as many immunities as I can, especially knockdown and fear).

Moonmead? Never heard of it. I have a stash of regular Invisibility potions though for when my sneakiness isn't sneaky enough [insert rude comments about queen ants here].

Seems like lots of room for expansion from Nordwald Forest. If I weren't such a dullard, I'd be tempted to try to learn the toolset and apply to be a builder. Alas, I'll just have to run (and sneak) around and kill stuff (and loot the treasure of creatures I can't defeat in combat)

As for Norwald Forest, I have spent most of Sunday working on the Norwald Caverns (In which one finds Ice Kobold Coldwizards)

That would explain why I wouldn't have found any, I rarely find rare items.

Still, I remember seeing 2 cave entraces and at least 1 other connecter/path thing available for use. But I'm sure all of it will be put to good use eventually

But going back to the toolset, I used to know how to do more than I do know. Guess I forgot a lot when I didn't play or mess with NWN for months. But I couldn't get the conversations to work when briefly messing with the plot wizard. About all I know how to do is make uber-items and put them in containers I did make a dragon last week, but it seemed kind of sissy...

First of all when a plant spawns it has a 1% chance of being Moodmoss. This compares to a 20% chance of being Honeysuckle, for example. Then you need to beat a DC15 search check to get the goods. Then a lore check to see how many potions you brew.

On the subject of rare items, some people wanted the maths for rare drops...

spoiler(highlight to read): Nearly all creatures in Folderol that use weapons or armour not only have custom created equipment, but also have a chance to drop those items when they die. This gear is unobtainable in shops, and often better than what you can buy. We use the same script for all the monsters. Most of them are dropping on a 5% chance, but some really rare items drop on a 1% chance.

Is it a good custom weapon? And can he make greatswords? It took me almost an hour and a half of fooling around to get that 1 mil gold and I'd hate to waste it.

I played the start of the Alterra mod yesterday (can't remeber it's real title, but it ends with - the Lost), and it's good fun, but I was a bit frustrated by it. I got to level 3 without a single fight, and then noticed that you don't get any XP for actually killing things!
It seems as though my greatsword weaponmaster in the making may be a bit pointless after all. But it's quite well written, and there's a lot of areas to explore. Reminds me of the OC quite a lot though.

He makes +5 keen weapons with an extra +2d6 damage. Not greatswords though - you can buy a greatsword of equivalent power from the Formians.

It is at level 10. It is at level 15 with a solo rogue. Its not at level 20. He's about the same challenge rating as Madam Ant.

Doc, what do you mean by a "config switcher"? Some kind of macro to store a list of all your equipped items and allow you to recall and re-equip that config at anytime could be done. Running out of quickslots are we?

Somekind of w00tly magic device that saves your neck in combat - either by annihilating the enemies or teleporting you clear - but that uses its charges to make your magical items non-magical would be fun.
In fact, it would have to be teleporting, or else you would just leave your nice items in a handily-placed cupboard before automatically winning the next battle at a cost of having a ring of protection +1 deleted from your inventory and replaced by an ordinary silver ring.

Running laps in Bull Run isn't abuse is it? Not my fault the bulls are easy and give crap exp while having lots of treasure lying about.

I was/am rather disappointed about how easy it was to kill Misera Bull. The first time I met him he seemed quite deadly

Which reminds me of the question I forgot to ask last night. Is there a cap of 300xp for any individual monster, no matter how "impossible" it is? If so, it makes fighting some of them quite pointless (imho) unless they drop something good.

Jam changed the xp system, but it used to be 600xp max, though for 2 that's 300 max (under the old xp split rules). I think the latter is different under the new rules, but probably the former is not. Jam can confirm.

There's a max of 300 xp per player per monster and a minimum of 5. Although the script is set up to enable builders to make boss monsters give more xp, no one has actually used it yet. You get a base value that increases by level, a bonus to xp for the number of people in the party, a bonus depending on your level, and a few other random bonuses and penalties (i.e. pure mage vs magic resistant monster)

Seemed like he was always there on my other trips, but those weren't many. Guess percentages are catching up with me.
