What game were you watching? Milan were basically out of it after half time apart from the odd spurt. Pity it went to penalties though.

F*ck that, that's only the second English team I can remember watching win a European Cup. Milan clearly had the better side but it was unbelievable spirit from the Liverpool players to come back when they were buried at 3-0. Steven Gerrard is pretty special isn't he.

It was a superb game, easily the best final since it became the Champions League. Milan in the first half were absolutely sublime. Magic football. I still have no idea how Liverpool got back into it or how they hung on at the end with half their players seemingly crippled by cramp. Milan seemed to totally collapse after they conceded that first goal. Anyway.

Congratulations Liverpool! And thanks to both teams for a great spectacle.

Hope Liverpool get back in the competition in the 06/07 season.

best champions league final i can remember, watched the game in the pub last night, with a bunch of welsh 'scousers', there's nothing funnier.

I cant believe I missed it! I turned it on about 5 min in so missed the first goal. Liverpool looked like a 4th rate team compared to Milan so I didnt pay much attention. Next time I looked in it was 3-0 and I thought ****, why bother.

I got up early in the morning (NZ Time) to watch the Heysel final. That was terrible.

But Liverpool have finally exorcised the ghosts of the last 15 years. Now they have to buy some better players to keep it up.

And good on Smicer and Baros who will probably be leaving for playing their hearts out. And Dudek too.
