And a team of mostly English kids is taking on the USA.

First team players missing from the USA friendly:

David Beckham, Michael Owen, Paul Robinson, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville

So only Sol Campbell, Joe Cole and Ashley Cole from the full line-up? (although Sol apparently wouldn't have been first choice if Rio and Terry were fit.)

Even the replacements are dropping out.

Stuart Downing, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Matthew Upson and Michael Dawson so far...

gonna be watching england - usa tonight down the pub, no doubt we'll be the usual rubbish we are in friendlys, but it's always nice to see the boys in action.

play off finals, my money's on preston, back where they belong and in the league 1, sheffield wednesday to outclass hartlepool.

looks like southend are gonna do it in league 2, only about 10 minutes to go in extra time and 1-0 up.

Just a thought for UEFA. They should change the Champions League qualifying rules so that the winners automatically get one of the places allocated to their country.

That would not upset anyone outside England for 2005/06 and stuff the FA (who deserve whatever bad happens to them anyway).

Face facts Imran, were going to be in it. Even MikeH must be reading the papers, we have the majority of the UEFA committee on our side. One of the few who isn't is the public relations guy, thats why these statements about not changing the rules this year keep coming out, the guy is just a minor desk jockey though.
