I think what quite a few people here are failing to see is that even if some of the US's actions over the years have turned out badly for many innocent people, that was never the intention. Amercia would never do this kind of thing deliberatly

In WWII the Nazis deliberatly set out to kill an entire race(or races if their plans to turn Africa into a giant concentration camp had worked!).

Amercia just wants freedom and peace for all people on the planet. It will never knowingly target civillians, or use weapons of mass destruction against an enemy unless there was no other choice.

So untill you realise this you just wont understand how dispicable that german girls comments were, and by them she condemed her entire race to deserve to be put in Gitmo or worse.

Its the TRUTH and if you cant se that, your obviously a commie scumbag that just hates the fact USA is so great and is blessed by jesus(its in the bible if you go and look).

IIRC the first part of Auschwitz was a concentration camp for Polish intellectuals and resistors from 1940 on, so even before the so-called final solution, later also for Soviet POWs....Auschwitz-Birkenau was the death camp as such, since 41....Another part was specifically a camp for slave workers.

Yes, United States was an imperialist nation in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

Hell, one could argue that United States was an imperialist nation up through most of the Cold War as well.

Its like Great Britain - we never knowingly set out to harm any other country. We were only trying to bring some civilisation to the savage and heathen parts of the world. If that meant that many innocent people had to die, then that was just the price they had to pay. I dont think any of those countries(USA included) holds that against us now do they?



Imperialism/blind patriotism is exactly the type of breeding ground that can lead to situations like the Holocaust(or the British Empire ).

Muad'Dib - you need to learn to be self critical of your own country when its neccesary(as we all should be of our own), it wont stop you being a true patriot - it might even make you a better patriot; if real Freedom+ true democracy are things you believe in.

Mark Twain thought so, and I don't think there's any other way to describe the Spanish-American War, after which the Americans went on prosecuting a war against the people they were meant to be liberating in the Philippines- a war of extermination in some of the islands.
