Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

I propose that if Hydey has not played his turns by Friday evening that we swap positions in the turn order.

I gave DaveV's scenario a go and lasted into the AD period... barely.... But that was just a reconnoitre. Next time, I'm serious.

I agree re: turn swap ... Hydey's had the game long enough. And, I was half serious about the Romans landing a bunch of Elephants...

Well in that case maybe I should withdraw my suggestion.......I don't want to be remembered as the guy that lost all our cities.

Hehe give Hydey till Friday evening, and if nothing surfaces by then I will play the next 12 turns over the weekend.

Hydey wakes from the slumber that is the real world to discover he is holding up the game, takes half day off to play his turns before he gets beheaded by an angry mob of tricky mice.

500 BC continue the fine work of the previous git.

475 BC spot barb archer at (89,107)
Majic kingdom zinning every second turn so techs every 6 turns or 9 turns

450 BC Discover ENGINEERING start banking
spot Roman elephant & catapult near Free Willy
Find Greek city of Pharsalus , they demand wheel which I give them, they offer peace wich I accept, I establish embassy with diplo's second move point.

Send emissary to the Romans, the demand 100 gold for a ceasefire, I look at the angry elephant & catapult and send them the gold, I ask for a peace treaty and they agree and say they will move their troops from our lands but they still remain.

Indians build great library in Delhi

400 BC Population hits 500,000

375 BC Continue zinning Majic Kingdom every second turn techs still 6-9 turns

350 BC Neverland builds Settlers

325 BC tomorrow land builds beads van

300 BC Population hits 600,000
Chinese build Great wall in Shanghai

275 BC discover BANKING start invention
Free willy builds settlers

250 BC Euro disney builds settlers

225 BC Tomorrow land builds Phalanx

200 BC Hydey scratches his head before banging it into a wall
NEXT

Techs every 7 turns when zinning majickingdom and 10 turns when not

I hope the rest of you can do better than I

Well that was perfect timing for the weekend, so I'll certainly give it a shot.

Btw it is Valentine's day today so the chances of playing any civ today are remote unless I build the fantastic present wonder, which decreases the chance of senate interference completely.

What I do is better:

I'm inviting her tomorrow (instead of today, like everybody ) to the "support diner" of my soccer team: how romantic it will be, to be surrounded by drinking (and drunk...) soccer players (one of them me, I must admit )...

Glad she just hates Valentine Day...

Of course, I might be missing the "very pleased" part...

My wife was a little bit disappointed when I told her I got bananas for valentine's day. But then when she saw it - a wonderful banana blossom and some ginger flowers - orange and red - she began immediately to say thank you on her special way ...

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

175BC - Reign of the sagacious doctor begins. He
sucks his breath in over his teeth and decides
that expansion will be faster under his wise
leadership
- Copernicus abandoned.
- Middleton produces settler.

150BC - That idiot Gibbon puts us fourth; the Romans
are first. Gibbon told me of his upcoming work,
which is provisionally entitled "The everlasting
Roman empire", but I told him to delay
publication since I see problems for the
Romans on the horizon. :D
- Lagash founded.

125BC - zzzz

100BC - Kish founded.

75BC - Nippur founded
- Invention. If no-one else will the sagacious
doctor will undertake to lead his people from
the squalour they now experience. Democracy
chosen.

50BC - Free willy buils Phalanx.

25BC - Greeks start Copernicus.

AD1 - Something about a geezer called Jesus.
Romans are really pissed. Btw their cat is still
in our territory under careful surveillance.
- DD produces Cara.

AD20 - Romans skank invention......they are really
headed for a fall.
- Shurrupak founded.

AD40 - zzzz

AD60 - Greeks get invention from Romans
- Fantasia builds settler
- Middleton builds horse

AD80 - Reign ends

The sagacious Doctor is mercilessly murdered by a foul usurper famous throughout the land for his lack of skill at archery. Alas the upstart wanted the glory of ushering in democracy for himself. Fortunately history will remember the wise doctor as the the catalyst for change, despite his being shackled by the efforts of his barbarian forebears. :D

Yes, still Xinning. I think it was the fastest way to get to democracy.......in fact I was musing to myself that this may be the best setting to use the size 5, since usually monarchy comes too early for it to be useful.

DrSpike leads us to Invention. (Great job, Herr Doktor!)
Straybow will undertake the transition to Democracy (at which I've been shown to have my flaws. )
