Easy way out. Ran out of arguments?
But I understand that americans are generaly ignorant, your school system sucks and its concentrated on the U.S. and the U.S. only. But I can understand why, it's easier for the leaders to control their peoples opinion that way.

NO, run out of things to argue against. Your whole quasi arguement is that all americans are stupid. It's hard to argue against broad sweeping generalization based on bigotry.

Do you think the americans that post here are stupid?
The school my daughter goes to is a fine school, are you calling her stupid? Isn't it general knowledge that Canadians are bigger hicks the Americans? If you answer yes to all of these questions, then we have no common frame of reference to argue. If not, maybe there's hope.

BTW the United States has the most UN Vetos since 1998. Something like 237. I think France has 2. So who's the "little brat"?

Another reason was attempting to bully NATO, an organization they don't contribute too militarily, by sabotaging protection for Turkey.

A third reason is that many insiders say France applied presure to several key Turkish ministers, using the club of "no possibility of EU admintance" to get them to refuse US troops to be stationed in Turkey, making the war more difficult, and possibly more costly in lives lost.

If France had simply said we want inspections, and then allowed a vote, without strong-arming African nations on the SC and threatening Veto, I doubt people would have boycotted.

Quite simply, France went to far.

I love this, attack France for everything that the US itself was doing. Oh no, France applied pressure to Turkish ministers, what do you call promising billions of dollars in US aid? Strong arming African nations. Threatening veto, sure because they couldn't match the US dollar for dollar in bribery.

I understand the boycotters viewpoint, because France flew in the face of the US's valiant attempts to start a war. Its completely hypocritical.

Where did you get that? Not all americans, MOST. And most are not stupid, ignorant, ignorant is the word.
They follow what leaders say ALL THE TIME!! After the war started 51% were convinced that Saddam was responsible for the WTC, 68% dont know their continents, GEORGE BUSH thought that Toronto was an american city, in your weather report on TV the map is of the US only, here in canada we have Canada AND the US eventhough they dont give the weather down there, the average american cant place france, germany, spain, turqui or even Iraq on the globe, most americans dont know where Montreal is, most americans think that american beer is strong beer when it's really water, most americans think that they won the war in Vietnam, most americans think that they really go to war to make or keep peace when it's 95% of the time for economical reasons, and I could go on and on and on and on...
Now if you are offended by this is probably that you consider your self within "most" americans, which I never implied.

Face it, it's the truth.

Yes, I must admit that the American school system has focused more on the math and hard sciences and less on the social sciences. It's a shame.

You throw around all these percentages based on survey research. I laugh at that. I work for a survey research firm. There is crap research and good research. We can make the numbers say anything through biased or crappy sampling. Which one do you think will be sensationalized. Actually you're showing your own ignorance by blindly believing all of those statistics. Hmmm, is that different than other people believing what they've heard.
You'd do better to base your beliefs on things you've experienced.
Do you know any americans personally. If so, were they ignorant?
How about the american posters here?
That's all I'm asking, don't believe everything you hear. Experience it yourself.

Granted, there are certain areas of the US where I have experienced truely ignorant people. But the majority have been the exact opposite.

on another note
I don't think it's hypocritical. And I agree that France was doing nothing different than the US has done, time and time again. But does that really make a difference. If the French want to boycott American products because they don't like what we're doing. Fine, vote with your wallet. It's the best way to make yourself heard. We have that same right. The motives are really immaterial.
