MRex was being given (or confirmed) enough info that it isn;t surprising he might not have thought of asking much about PAL. Also we were deliberately reluctant to tell him even this much, so he may have just been digesting the knowledge for what it was.

Are they a suspicious lot, these CDGers?

I'm not sure. I have only dealt with them for a month or so and from our relationship, they seem pretty trustworthy. Also, I have been trying to stall for time with CDG. We did not know how to deal with them until a few turns ago. Now that we know what to do, I can write up something pretty soon, if we feel the need. What do we think they should get?

I think we should definately offer them a second NAP but probably right as the first runs out. Make it also 20 turns.

I think we should give them the impression that we have only good intentions, but we do get distracted and lazy at times, which is why we may take longer to get back to them.

We want to establish early on that we're a bit slow to react and slow to get things done, but at the same time show them that we have no ill intentions.

I can be the new ambassador to CDG. As I am still the FAM, I can appoint myslef. And given that I have just indicated that I will NOT accept the FAM nomination, this position makes sense.

The only problem I see is that we want to be nice and friendly with CDG, all as a pretense before we attack them. I have absolutely no experience with this kind of thing.

I dont think OCT_X heard back from MRex to confirm a time and date.

OCT_X left it open and hoped MRex would show. (Is that right OCT_X?)

Anyway Beta, if we dont talk to them soon them just take charge and get ahold of MRex. OCT_X and any of the other counsuls can back you up.

I cant chat till after the 6th. And the next couple of days are going to be the busiest. I started work at 0900 this morning and Im still working at 2230 right now. This is scheck in the Delegates day.

Im ready for a couple of shots and a beer!!!!

Either way, I'm at work until 8pm eastern, so I won't be showing for at least an hour and a half after it starts.

I'd appreciate it if Nuc Master, Con, Beta, MZ, whoever can show up to host MRex and take down his tech offering.

No NAPS longer than 20 turns.

No Border agreements (premature at this point).

We have friendly-but-distant relations with PAL. We have done some limited tech trades with PAL. We have not traded Writing to PAL. If asked, we should be surprised that they have it.

If they ask for details on past tech trades with PAL, just tell them you don't know exactly and would have to dig it up.

No military alliances at this point. "We may fight PAL in the future but they appear to be too far away to be of much immediate concern to us."

THINGS TO LIE about : Our alliance with PAL, our plans to attack them, the specifics of our tech trades to PAL.

Don't Lie about anything else, especially things they will later discover themselves. If you're uncertain, just say that you don't know for sure and will have to ask someone.

This is something that was discussed, but not polled on, IIRC. I certainly agree with it.

Perhaps we could say that they have a VERY different DG style to us and CDG and thus they are at times hard to talk to. Communication is at times poor. As ever, the best decpetions are truths!

I think we should at least remember that we made a tech trade sometime when we first met, but only give that info if really pushed.

Perhaps we should say we are concentrating on developing before war (true), so it is (like the borders) far too early to make any such decisions.

BTW, Im still overseas and will not be able to make it.

MWIA seems to have a firm handle and can take it from here.

If others join the best thing to do is let one person take the lead. Talk amongst one another in our main channel before you bring something up in the diplo channel.

I have enough experience now to know someone has to take the lead, especially when we are going the deception route.
