There are no indications of an archer rush. We would first see an indication from the mil advisor (right now they're weak to us) and secondly, they would not be hounding us about not getting back to them. They would keep a low profile. Their hounding us and making vague accusations is a sign of worry ... worrying that reveals that they see themselves in a weaker position to us and they fear we may exploit it.
However, if they do feel choked by our expansion, they may rush to expand into areas that we want and if they are beaten there, they may change course and take on a more militeristic path. We just need to watch for the signs (excessive scouts, unusual tensions, veiled threats, and a spike in their mil strength).
However, their production sucks and their current threat to us is very limited. We are in a war-builder mode right now, which is the proper stance for whatever may come, and we should not deviate from our plans.
Uber already has sentries along the eastern border. We need to continue our Hoplite Production and our expansion, and we need to protect our border cities. Hypnos must remain in full military production (with an occasional worker to deal with pop), Apolyton should alternate, and all of our other cities should be in a military build-up mode as well.

They have proposed one, which we have yet to get back to them on.
From the chat two weeks ago:

After that we can research Liturature, the final tech in the middle bracket of the tech tree. In exchange for those two technologies, we would ask you to give us Mysticism, Horseback Riding, and Polytheism. In short, we give you the middle branch of the tech tree, you give us the bottom branch of th |

Review the threads (especially the PAL thread) about what we can and cannot tell them. Get their trust back, to some degree. Or at least let them come to the conclusion that our lack of contact was based on negligence, not any sort of intentional decision on our part. |
Considering it's true, hopefully that won't be too hard.

Ok this is my proposed reply:
(ill leave this up here for about 6 hours, then Ill need to send it because I need to drive to Chicago this evening)
quote: Greeting to the peoples of CDG!
MRex
I’m conmcb25, the newly elected Foreign Affairs Minister for Apolyton. Hopefully you will remember me; we briefly played in a Crimson PBEM game at CDG. I used to pass the save to you. Anyway, I have previously been one of the first consuls for Apolyton in this game and since I left that office (due to RL time constraints), I have been sort of busy with RL.
Now that the introductions are over, I want to offer your team our sincere apologizes. Like Kloreep told you in the last chat a couple of days ago, our Foreign Affairs Ministry (FAM) has quite frankly sucked. I’ll be working to improve that. The last week of May and first week of June, I was in Romania working a conference for the US military. I got back home on Saturday June 5th, and then quite un-expectantly had to go to Chicago for a week when my father in law was tragically killed in a freak car accident. So I was pretty much out of circulation for a three week period. And now of course I’m swamped at work and home trying to catch up after being gone for three weeks! Now I agree someone else should have been able to step up to the plate and continue discussions with you but Vander disappeared for finals in the same time frame, and has since reappeared and told us he can no longer do the ambassador duties. I’m taking time to explain this all because really and truly getting back to your team has not been a deliberate act on our part. I will try and provide you with timely feedback in the future until I can find a suitable replacement for Vander. So again our sincere apologizes for being less than responsive to your issues.
To answer some of your questions:
1.On the Great Lighthouse. As far as Apolyton is concerned, go For It . We think your plan is a wonderful idea, and we have no issues with you building that wonder.
2.On the tech trade we agree in principle, and as we get closer to wrapping up the Philo/ COL/ Republic deal we will have no problem continuing to discuss cooperating in research. I believe right now we have some time for our team to discuss this issue. Ill make sure some polls get set up in our forums.
3.On the border. Ill be honest, our Minister of the Interior (MOI) is a very competent individual. BUT he is an engineer and works in the construction industry. Since it is obviously summer right now He is extremely busy and quite frankly we have not even got close to discussing a border. We have been extremely focused on getting a core down and/ or trying to get our most productive tiles working. With that being said we are willing to discuss a border. If you want please provide us with what your thoughts are on that issue, our team will discuss and then we can chat about it.
To wrap this up, today is Saturday the 19th. I have a bunch of yard-work to do today and then have to drive to Chicago tonight for Father’s Day. (My wife and three kids stayed up there this last week). So I will unavailable for chat this weekend. I can however chat sometime next week. Let me check my schedule and I will get back to you. Usually I can not chat until after 2100 CDT.
Hopefully this answers most of your immediate questions. During the day if you need to get a hold of me the best way is via email:
Work: steve.knapowski@navy.mil
Home: conmcb25@bluemarble.net
It would be best to use both email addresses.
And again our sincere apologizes for not being responsive, I will do my best to try and improve our communications in the future.
Sincerely
Conmcb25
