The last 2 episodes involved a chig coming aboard to negotiate a peace. I'll tell you what happened if you don't plan on seeing it.

Second error: "SW weapons travel at a mere speed of light". This is actually an error in my favor; SW weapons are not lasers in the sense of coherent light - this is obvious from the movies which are canon. SW weapons actually travel SLOWER than lightspeed, but this actually doesn't mean anything, because of the
Third error: ST ships can't attack ships in realspace from warp; there are multiple example of ST ship attacking station from realspace. If they could attack from warp, why would they attack from realspace and expose themselves to enemy fire? | Actually they can and there have been a number of episodes in which they did, but if you whoosh past someone while you're in warp and he's not you're not going to get many shots in. Dealing with ships which are not warp capable ST ships can drop out of warp, fire, then go back into warp before the slower opponent has a chance to fire back.

The simple and obvious answer to these little insane matchups is:tyhey could never happen..heck, they can;t even agree on the method of FTL travel.
So, returning to show quality, DS9 I think was better than ST:NG, if only becuase being centered in one place it could develop longer sotrylines with better character development.
B5 had the same advantage, and in not being an episodic show either many of its characters had very good arcs.
NBow, on B5-the interesting thing is that the show was as good as it was with so little stability and backing. I mean, look at the transition from season 1 to 2- JS replaces JS (jeffrey sinclair for john sheridan)-both had reelations with women working for IPX, bot started something with Delenn. I think, in fact, if JMS had not been forced to dump the guy who played Sinclair in order to bring in Bruce Boxleitner we would have seen Sinclairs girlfriend go to Zhahadum some time in season 2.

Stargate is kind of weird cause they've 'deified' alien weapons. the asgard could just wipe out everything? I mean on a number of episodes, they just zapped away entire armies of Guoald/Jafaa and whole pyramid ships. and the replicators are unstoppable... even the Guolad now, under Anubis, have those invincible warriors.
the problem with Gouald, Replicators, and Asgard technology is that it's so advanced that they have no counter to humans with our relatively primitive weapons. One of the asgard mentioned how our M-16's and P90's were effective because they were so primitive.

Perhaps every single piece of SW literature ever written?
Perhaps the fact that the movies directly contradict your interpretation - yours requires that the SW universe have a diameter about two or three times that of our solar system. The scene aboard the medical frigate in TESB clearly contradicts this.
Perhaps the fact that if they wanted to say "1.5 times the speed of light", they wouldn't say ".5 past light speed" but rather something like "1.5 c"?

Do you want to get into the efficacy of ST weapons against SW ships, and vice versa? Suffice it to say that while a single salvo from one of an ISD's five-gun turbolaser batteries would bring down Enterprise-E's shields, the E-E would not have a similar effect on an ISD. How difficult do you think it would be for the ISD to shoot at the ship during the few seconds it was in realspace?

All Starfleet would have to do is transport a medium sized nuke into the center of an ISD to blow it in half. Even if an ISD is up to 6 km long, the blast radius of a present day medium sized thermonuclear weapon would be sufficient to rip an ISD apart. Imagine what an anti-matter based weapon would do.

I suppose Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn, specifically approved of by LucasArts, does not bear any weight at all?
quote: .....because Han is an uneducated ruffian who has limited language skills? |
from the official SW website:
quote: Solo eventually joined the Imperial Academy, to better himself and his piloting skills. Solo's mentor during his Academy days was Badure, or "Trooper" as he was known. During a training drill, Han performed a daring landing maneuver with an aged U-33 transport that earned him the nickname "Slick." Sometime during his military career Han Solo earned the right to wear the Corellian Bloodstripe. |
"Uneducated" = went to the Imperial Academy?
He's definately not "uneducated" about starships, as is obvious from the modifications he's made to the Falcon.

You get an F for not remembering that you can't transport through shields. Another F for assuming that a ship coming out of warp would be going near c, and that the ship could actually get a lock. Plus, phasers fire at sublight speeds too.
Anyways, this dispells your idea that it would work.
