Nah, I'll be in and out so Darkcloud will continue his rule.

The math in this game is fairly intense. I'd say not all the errors are the fault of the current GM, some are bad orders from players while others are murky gray areas that hadn't been encountered yet, such as trade sabotage.

Turn 7

Espionage
General Ludd sent two spies (the one from last turn was saved) to Kuciwalker this turn, one of them was negated by the Trojan Horse, which ran the spy over, but the horse ended up getting tipped over by the spy and needed to be repaired before it could be used again. Ludd's other spy was more successful and managed to sabotage Kuciwalker's army production, of which there was none. Meanwhile a spy from Sparrowhaek was busy throwing all of Ludd's newly built weapons in the ocean.

Kucinich the generous barbarian
Kucinich sent all of his gold and armies to Duke O' York, intelligence reports show no explanations.

Duke O' York the generous [strike]Monarch[/strike] Mayor
Duke O' York brought knowledge to the low tech societies of the world in an amazing show of generosity, now everone was atleast at tech level 8.

Revolution in New Offtopic
Rumors have been going around the world that Smiley was only being used as a puppet, this was proved when the despot was overthrown by the new king Darkcloud, who was a famous Iguana seer and advisor to the despot.

Unnamed terror on outskirts of Gregoria
Unamed troops marched into into Gregoria, 124 in all. They took 2 cities and 8 causualties, General Ludd's 72 troops took 16 causualties.

Nope, foreign aid takes place after research so when you tried to only research nine it didn't work because you didn't have the techs from Duke yet.

I'm just going to ask here, 'cause it's not worth starting a new thread for.

Would there be any interest in playing a fantasy variation of this game, with more flexible (and less mathy) mechanics? Sort of like a cross between this and one of those 'never ending story' games.

By introducing a fudge factor and leting the GM decide the outcome of events rather than relying on arithmetic.

Or even if I do figure out a decent arithmetic based ruleset, there wouldn't be the same sort of factors as in a Society game since things like technology or governments wouldn't really be an issue in a fantasy setting, not to mention exponential growth.

Turn 8

Espionage
Sparrowhawk and General Ludd sent spies at eachother to sabotage army production, but the ended up only sabotaging each others sabotages

code:
Trade Duke O' York -----> General Ludd 9 caravans 1782/891 General Ludd ----> Skanky Burns 11 caravans 1089/2178 Spaced Cowboy -> Skanky Burns 8 caravans 1152/1152 Darkcloud ---------> Skanky Burns 8 caravans 864/1152 Sparrowhawk ----> Duke O' York 9 caravans 972/972

Society Wars: The Spaced Dudes Strike Back
104 newly trained space cowboys left the dude ranches and descended upon the barbarian villages of kuciwalker. What they found was a bigger uproar than usual, because of a revolution. but the bloodthirsty warriors who had terrorized the cowboys were still ready for battle. Of course, these were the citizens. In all warlike civilizations everyone is a warrior you see. The Spaced Dudes easily overtook the civilian militia, and captured all the cities. Usually a republic would let an enemy leader go free, but Kuciwalker was taken prisoner, tried for warcrimes, and executed. The Dude Ranches captured by the barbarians were restored, and the barbarian villages were made modern. He couldn't pay most of his armies so all of them were sent off duty and only 50 were kept

Darkcloud attempts to unseat barbarians, finds cowboys
Darkcloud attempted to sneak attack the barbarians but he found they had been conquered by the finest space cowboys in the land

Sparrowhawk continues his assault
Sparrowhawk continued his assault with 192 armies, he took 3 causualties and all of General Ludd's once proud utopia.

As I expected.

But, a correction: I sent my spy towards Sparrowhawk.

In retrospect, I should of sent it against the war phase... 'though I was certain he would send a spy against me this turn to protect against such a thing.

EDIT: Ah, I see that Sparrowhawk did send a spy at me, afterall. And I had just gotten my calculator out show how I should still have some cities left.
