Basically regard, but here that's modified by how much of a threat they view you as.

1440 AD Scots capture Ottawa.
1445 AD Scots capture Nongoma.
Killed 2 Egyptian 4 stacks mincing about outside 2 of our powerful cities.
1465 AD A load of attacks from the Scots all failed.
Picked off a few more Egyptians roaming about.
Toronto is the most in danger city at the moment and will need 6 or more units.
Well I see we totally abondoned the 'pillage and recapture' tactic and back to the 'defend on own doorstep' tactic. The Egyptians should be close to surrendering though, we have 3 times as many cities and we're slowly picking off their loose units, we're producing at least 3 times as many (although losing a lot to the Scots), with Infantry and Cannons anyway. I was just aiming to keep as many cities as possible and hopefully overtake them, but lost 2 cities, we're on 15 now and cant afford to lose another. I pillaged the Phoenicians railway to pieces in some parts and hopefully they wont be as bad, the worst now are the Scots and Korea, who will soon have Tanks if they havent already.
Also an alliance with the Nigerians would be good at this point but im usually not very good at AI diplomacy and I didnt want to spend gold for nothing.

quote: EPW, can u explain why u like cav so much (or is it not just you? |
Because theyre faster and theyre flanking units. Although Infantry do have 2 extra hit points IIRC. On my turn I was building Infantry and Cannons to try and outnumber the Egyptian army into surrendering because I could build those faster than Cavalry. At least thats how I imagined it working.

cav dont seem to do too well when the battles get big, or do they, anyway, i always change away from EPW's all cav build lists, but i keep cavs, its just that they cost too much
nominated from the front at NHD, a talented young man who served under the late Gen. Jackson steps up to the presidency, although he is in the communist party, there is no sign of a change in key gov structure until a vote passes any proposed change
being a charming young man just out of the military, ZhuiMing has futher pushed on the issues of peace w/ at least 3 of the other world players
in this process, he traded electicity to nigeria for explosives, and to america for adv. canon tech, and now, the only possible research for our scientists is naval tactics, but we are looking forward to finding a way of opening talks w/ the scots, whom he hopes already satisfied itself w/ a huge portion of a our past empire and is ready to sit down
using the 3 idle caravans, ZhuiMing also starts two trade routes totaling 144 after using all the 3 caravans w/in our borders, but critics already charge the routes are not sustainable
notes:
the smaller territory doesnt seem to help mutual aid as the cities are split into these pockets and some regions just cant handle the fighting
most units are fortified in cities so to levy the defensive advantage, esp. NHD
the 2 arquebusier fortified in 2 of our cities got upgraded to light arty for 1000, but these light arty only move 1 per turn, having better defense and poorer range than cannon, but still almost the same thing, light will suit small armies better as intended, but it cant keep up w/ infantrymen, and later modern infantry (i think they move far too)
we lost too much, its as if the Ais decided to blitzkreig us, and it hasnt seemed to slow
that arquebusier in the field in phonecea, i assumed he was headed to carthage, so i sent him marching drunk, the report from the many who fleed back to safety (just keeping w/ the story, i didnt retreat the unit) report that carthage is relatively free of units, but they do have machine gunners, modern inf, light arty, and cav, all of which are the most modern things on the face of the game right now, but we can overwhelm them w/ numbers once we settle at home

1530 regina and cairo lost to overwhelming enemies korea and egypt, troops now abandoning cagary
1540 wait the koreans are the ones who have abandoned cagary, so our hold is still good
finally retake cairo (the march took too long guys)
1560 finally lose cagary ( i ran away after they surrounded us, now its a matter of retreating to safety w/out losing too many
it seems cairo must also be abandoned as i dont have the means to defend there either
1565 cairo not lost, but nobody there to defend, selling buildings
our spy gets railroad adv. from phoneacean city of berytus
calgary garrison never made it, all members lost , but at least they died bravely killing off more numbers tan themselves
1570- leave shadow to watch the end turn, im guessing that cuz its still my turn i can watch it too, so i did, and another attack and cairo yet to fall
good luck not loosing more cities
