Had we had the clause in from the very beginning and had we not just added it later on, we could have a chance at doing that without pissing the Gaians off further. Now, however, if we are to keep our relations to the Gaians warm, we'll have to be more careful with the shenanigans. We could, later on, mention to them that "you know, we COULD have done this, but decided not to because you're so nice guys" if needed.

Besides, now that we have contact with Morgan, we can trade them GS within the five year period. Unless they think they can get a more valuable trade from the Gaians in five years, it depends on whether they find the time crucial. IMHO we certainly should have IndAuto ASAP.

This does mean we'll have to sell gene splicing to the Morganites and Gene + DocMob to the Angels as soon as possible, before they find out they can get it from the Gaians in five years.

However, I do think this would further the goal Zeiter proposed, one I agree with - appearing to be mostly harmless. If we aren't too aggressive with the trades, we won't appear to be the devious, conniving, powerhungry bastards we are.

Of course, NOT appearing powerhungry isn't as easy in this game as it was in Europe in the 1800's. Conquering all of the world and being the only nation in existence has never been feasible, but in a SMAX game without allied victory, every alliance you make must be broken sooner or later. Everyone has but only one goal: sole victor.

I am inside the Command Center.

Am I to take it I can tell the Gaians that we are a-ok with the trade this turn? I see no reason why not, now that we have agreed to the proposal at hand. (Trust me, I would have loved to have the Morganites and Gaians compete against each other for GS, but with our earlier fubar we have very little breathing room with the Gaians. )

Both kass and I are having trouble too, as we're getting booted out every 5 minutes.

we have that problewm with the Aimoo boards as well (their chatrooms) - for freebies we are getting a limited service, so it might be that the # visitors is also restricted..

Looks like your Zonealarm needs a bit of configuring.

I'm going to have to sign out for a couple of hours now, so I won't be able to negotiate further - but I've finalised the trade with the Gaians and said that we'll send off the techs in an accepted offer the next turn (I assume we still have the techs the Gaians proposed in the window, so they can just go "accept" and be done with it)

Hmm - I can't move R-112 to the east along the river bed. there's a Hive colony pod blocking. I'll retreat to the monolith and let the gaians know it's there - they can take it out with their mindworm (I've indicated its position with a green blob on the minimap)

Hmmm....

For some reason. I don't see where the "applet" is supposed to be. I get a gray box, but no writing in it.
My only option (that I can see) is the two buttons that say "return to website".

I wouldn't give them any of our preciosu credits.

Instead, I propose sending them this (it will allow them to find out where the Hive colony pod is as well as where the monolith is that can heal their mindworm)

That's worth a lot more than a handful of ec's ... No?

I dunno what the Gaian problem is?
They have veteran players. So they "should" know how to negotiate and have a semblance of what common practice / protocol is while doing so.
Frankly, I'm kind of stunned by their lack of willingness to perform in this department. Especially, when they left us in the lurch about any decisions, and then not even bothering to tell us anything untill the turn was passed on...

And Maniac's right - the Pirates (PEACE) had a history in the last game of adding codicils and tweaks to trades right at the last minurte, and that right royally pissed players off on other teams

I see, too, that they have accepted our 25 ec's for the Angels' commlink (or at least Illuminatus is confident that the motion will receive the required majority)

I'll add the 25ec's to our 2 techs pre-accepted, if someone can audit my eventaul presend just before it finalizes to ensure that we have heard that they do indeed agree

Aye, we shan't need give the credits, the concession we made with the trade limit should be more than enough, let alone the fact we didn't start to play them against the Morganites to crank out a better deal. It's no longer broken, DONT TOUCH IT.
