That 3/4 DD only has used 1 mp so far, moving it 9 will tell us what the situation on Q2 is.

We might be able to block at least one ship, possibly more, by moving our DD not on, but next to the stack.

The fortress tiles 3,3 and 7,4 of Forkmouth have been pillaged unlike Q2,1, (right click shows no development) suggesting they're not defended. Chaining the tanks northwards instead could land alot of units on either of those tiles. It'd be throwing away the marines but would still force Lego to split their defenders between 2 cities. Although there wouldn't be any kind of defensive bonus for the units that landed there.

Lego have thought this out well

Good observation, OPD... I hadn't spot it yet. That hill is also an option to land, we can do a bit of chaining to get there, salvaging about half our M.

Worth looking into, but so far, I still favour Q2, and sailing our M S to at least try to get a split on 2 cities. That would need, from our side, 3 cities defended.

A DD in the way means an even more open target from the South. But we can't do much about that anyway, with only 1 or 2 more Art, any defender will be down to 1 hp, exposing the TRs.

We can't land at Q2 because even if the Rails survive, we can't build a city next to Quanto.

We take more damage if we land on flatlands, but I think it's our best bet now. Abilene 78? Will let us cover our Marines with all the DD that survive at least.

The MI still take 3-4 Artillery to get past. Then close to the same with the Inf. Then we lose more Tanks though, but not many more unless they blitz, in which case we get to counterattack at least.

Just for my own satisfaction, I've run four trials of 47 Marines against 10 I, 10 T, and 10A, a la Q.

This is a definite no-no.

OTOH, why would you need a city? You mean next turn, it wouldn't leave us any option except to take Quanto? Makes sense... but could be costly.

more importantly, it will let us move all our M out of the way of the BBs.

We still face the possibility that they will pillage all roads next to us. However, we might get a break, in that our few MI might force Lego to attack GoW.

We don't want to be forced to attack Quanto. Our surviving Tanks vs 25 Units will be ~30% to win. That's not very good odds, especially considering it will end our offensive either way. With us next to Quanto, there will be more than 25 units in there anyways.

Keep all but 1 of the Settlers in the Transports with the Marines. Keep some Tanks too (~16).

If Lego cuts the roads around our landing we could still hit Abilene with our surviving Marines and Tanks and have some rolling Tanks and Settlers still. Otherwise we can still land our Settlers/Tanks in our new town anyways. Not seeing the Settlers may help keep them from thinking what we are using them for too.

That's a bit risky maneuver, though... each Transport hit would mean one less settler. What about landing 3 of them, keeping the others hidden? They can't see we've built 2 more this turn, as they don't have a spy left.

I think I'm going to leave the landing and chaining to tomorrow morning. It's getting late Plus, it would leave time for comments.
