Well, this means we're be involved as well soon enough from the moment we have a Pact with the Gaians.

Should we try to stick to our new ally outright, or 'force' the Spartans to reconsider their decision by threatening to be involved as well? There's still a Spartan fleet near our coast...




In case we want to collaborate against the Spartans now, we might consider mindcontrolling one of those cruisers near our territory before declaring.

I would go for clarifying with Spartans that the Pact with Gaians is for economic reasons. We can also offer Pact to Spartans

I have the feeling that the Spartan team feels very secure now with the CDF in the pocket, and think they have enough leverage now against a sudden counter attack on their soil.

When we have the pact with the Gaians we'll be able to see the state of their military, and then we'll be in a better state to judge things.

Also now that our obligation to the Spartans is complete we have freedom to negotiate with whoever.

A pact with the Morgans would reveal the underdeveloped state of our military at the moment.

We need to think about offering a pact to Spartans. Pluses: It might help us get Doc:Air and if they attack we can withdraw pact and their units would leave our territory.

Minuses: Reveals our weak military position v theirs.

We soon gonna have good military, it's a question of some turns and manufacture in several bases. We also now need Bioenhancements. We then have standard veteran units, and after resigning from WEALTH social setting, they gonna be commando. After monolith upgrade - elite.

Reversal? We also may then accept Morganic Pact. Soon. That new vendetta of Spartans really complicates things.

OTOH, they still haven't invade Morgan bases outright. I suppose they are still rebuilding (or already transporting) ground troops to them. And of course they're supposed to build up a powerfull airforce as well.

The turn is in the Gaians hands now, so our fate is partly in their hands since Herc sended the turn with our pact proposal pre-accepted? Am I right about this?

According to Maniac, no transport should be near us, and we can check if they destroyed that Morgan probe boat near UN Commerce.

Okay, how far were they on accepting it? Haven't followed the negotiations with them indepth. Kept myself busy with the Spartans.

It is looking more and more like Use, Gaians and Morgans will be working together.

For this type of pact I would make us the inteligence side and research.

Gaians specialize on tereforming and working with the planet along with going in the PSI area of research.

Morgan wil be the economic machine and produce a military and sell the units to us and G at cost.

We may not be able to beat the S but I hope we could hold them off.

Yes I was against being to close to the M but circumstances seem to dictate the other way.

I fraternized with a Spartan member earlier this evening.

Maniac of course.
In our conversations over dinner, the DG came up as subject as well.
Maniac seemed to hint at his willingness to Pact with us, but sofar this seems to come from his own, not from his team.
I hinted back that for a nice price that would be possible, and as price he hinted Doc: Initiative with trading restrictions.

Closer to the possibilities, he hinted at the possibility of us trading Doc: Air Power from the PK's if they traded that tech first with the PK's, and we trade/pay something for it. Cyberethics was mentioned (they checked already we're researching it).

He didn't really buy my hints at us still not having sufficient map info, but I may have decreased his opinion that we do.

They prefer us not to trade with Zak. Somehow ridiculous, why else offering us to sell the comlink first? But appearantly they're not happy we found him on our own.

I tried to think of a message to Spartans regarding our Pact with Gaians. I have to prepare a message to Gaians and Morgans, I think, but meanwhile what we could write to Spartans:

Pact may work here both ways. We gain infiltration on them and they on us. they will be able to draw invasion plans, and when need it, break the Pact and attack.
I would still go for Pact with Spartans. We may gain the same. Better knowledge about them. Possible even infiltration if they are not carefull enough.

An idea here to fool Spartans into believing we won't have infiltrated them, but it would cost us 3-4 probes I think.

- We create in the workshop a copy of the Spartan probes.
- We transport 2 normal probes and another unique probe unit with the same chassis the Spartans use towards a target base.
- The 2 normal probes take care of the Spartan defensive probe and infiltrate (we may need 3 probes for that).
- the unique probe moves in the target base, is 'upgraded' to our Spartan equivalent earlier created in the workshop, and gifted to the Spartans.

Would this be feasible?

Mart: I tested a probe attack on a pacted faction in MP, and I only had the warning of commencing a covert operation. No change in our respective factions' stance happened after it.

An idea:

How about asking to the Morgans if they would care to offer us something to NOT vote for the Spartans or Peacekeepers? We could get Synthetic Fossil Fuels out of that.

And the same can be done to the Spartans. Asking them if they would offer us something for NOT voting for the Hive? It would perhaps make Yang more dangerous to them if he is Planetary Governor (with the extra income).

We could even ask if they want our votes for the Governor seat for a few techs, whatever the outcome.

O yes, the Spartans told us last weekend what techs they could offer for a trade. This has nothing to do with the votes-for-something proposal (sofar).

I would still count on acquiring some techs in the near future due to our factional ability. Doctrine Initiative looks interesting.

What I think we need soon also is Advanced military algorithms for its bunker and AAA features. Maybe leapfrog with Gaians?
