I say ask what that contact was. Maybe disclose what DR is asking of us. If we can get TNA to stay hidden and play with TNA's mind all the better.

They built the Statue of Zeus, and they are showing off:
(from the message that came with the save)
The Crowd gathers in the Grand Statue of Zues Plaza
Drums begin to pound.... the sound picks up...
more drums join in.... the sound picks up...
then from behind you more drums join in.... the sound picks up...
this continues for a few minutes, then..
to both the left and the right of the Grand Statue of Zeus Plaza more drums join in.... the sound picks up...
soon no one can speak from the noise of the drums
their pace picks up.....
and silence.... it is almost deafening!
* Lord Soothsayer Plato of the Blood Oath Horde calls the plaza to order, after the drums, there is no talk, and all canhear him

I think he should know that we committed to TNA and the DR War, but that we are a peaceful and cultural people, not a blood thirsty war machine.
We will send horses as we can.
Long live TNA.

quote: Greetings Lords of Babylon
It is my hope that this finds you well and enjoying the rapid turn rate of this amazing game.
Since our chat on June 6, game year 1625bc, we have moved on 4 turns, 100 years, much is happening. It is my understanding that the game will move at least another full turn in the coming 24 hours, bring us to 1500bc.
This email is for three items: 1. Babylonian battle Patrols; 2. Techonlogial Trades; 3. Technological Trade.
------------------------------------------------------
Point 1.
I had hoped to have had a reply on the whereabouts of your "1st Babylonian Battle Patrol", along with their estimated time of arrival at Plot Point Centre, as marked on the attached map. So far we have only seen two single units: Sheridan (horseman 4/4) and Sheridan (horseman 4/4), some 7 tiles apart.
Anyway I thought maybe I was making to much of the matter, so I checked as per our chat on June 6, game year 1625bc, as the following extract is from, and thus would like to know where we are upto at this time, if that is alright.
------------------------------------------------------
2. The War on DR.
2.1 Babylonian availability
2.1
Paddy says:
so you have more troops avail?
Beta says:
OK - we have some horsemen now (read - more than 3) with more on the way.
We also have bowmen - lots - but there slower movement is an issue.
Paddy says:
Horse will be so important
Beta says:
Also - we would like to delay our GA as long as possible.
Paddy says:
Red Guard Operations (RGO) would like to see your horse gather and start moving soon
your initial 3 - 4 horse would make a great battle patrol for picking off stray DR troops over on the war front
Beta says:
Understood. We can do this.
Paddy says:
thus not setting off you GA, by keeping your bowmen at home
thus a 2nd Babylonian Battle Patrol could be what swings the final outcome
------------------------------------------------------
Point 2.
At this time the Bards and the Horde are openly at war with the Desolators.
Both nations have committed troops and the war progresses.
A lot of time is being spent on manoeuvring and counter manoeuvring.
The battle reports will be long and very grusome when the opposing forces finally do meet.
------------------------------------------------------
Point 3.
Ok, so technology, as per the following details from our last chat, the Horde looks forward to the finalization of the trade of Map Making and Literature for Monarchy this coming turn.
I can confirm that currency will be available before the 15 turns as discussed below, possibly 9 - 11. This all depends on the war and unit production, as I am sure you would understand.
------------------------------------------------------
6. Technologies
6.1 Babylonian research of Monarchy
6.1.2 The Horde have it that Babylon will complete this tech in approx 3 - 4
turns, as per correspondence in the last 14 days
6.1.3 The Horde still has Literature on the table, as agreed, along side of
Map Making, which you received as part of the "Three Nation Summit
Technological Trade Agreement"
6.1.3.1 Map Making was to be traded for Mathematics, which unfortunately
Babylon were not able to secure Math from the Desolators, thus leaving this
agreed to Technological Credit
6.1.4 Only the Bards and the Horde have Literature at this time
Beta says:
Agreed.
No problem. May I suggets we move along to 6. I am completely bagged.
hehe
Paddy says:
indeed
Beta says:
Yes - when last I glanced - Monarchy in 3-4, maybe 5. I can chcek and confirm.
Paddy says:
either is good
Beta says:
checking ....
Paddy says:
ok, thank you
Beta says:
4
Paddy says:
tx
Beta says:
From what I can tell from the turn threads and without restarting civ.
Paddy says:
The Horde Auditor General has been singing songs of this technology over his beer jug for weeks
Beta says:
hehe
LB has been flogging CoL with us for a while now.
Paddy says:
Seems each time I wander the streets of Khans Blood Hall, our capital, I have him asking me when will we be recieving it.
Beta says:
Where do we stand on contsruction and currency?
hehe - bureaucrats!
Paddy says:
I feel that these techs are 15 - 20 turns away
hehe
Beta says:
Are they underway?
Paddy says:
although DR has currency
yes they are
Beta says:
What say ye of trading LB Monarchy for currency.
Paddy says:
hmmmm
do you see Monarchy helping DR?
Beta says:
My only concern is that 1889 may trade it to DR.
Paddy says:
I feel at this time LB and DR are just swapping everything
indeed
Beta says:
Yes - agreed.
And AM?
Paddy says:
they have issues
Beta says:
Just trying to survive??
Paddy says:
they are growing, and have a strong pressence
Beta says:
Later.
Paddy says:
yes indeed
Paddy says:
can I come back to you on the LB Currency issue
Beta says:
yep - it all depends on what we feel is best for the alliance. We make the call together.
Paddy says:
I would like to get more input from Hordeland Control, Auditor Generals Department, and the Blood Cell, our Foreign Affairs department
Beta says:
Man - I can imgaine all the memos.
And committees.
And sub-committees.
Paddy says:
We be Horde, we have a central meeting hall, The Wild Boar, which is basically our pub. Many meetings are held there, and many a Council member can be found there wrapped in rugs sleeping off the effects of the brews of truth
Beta says:
Ahhhh - a committee.
Paddy says:
indeed
------------------------------------------------------
The Horde is ever happy that we have a strong alliance and that the future looks so good.
I had hoped that some of you would have attended the recent celebrations we held for the completion of the first wonder of the game, sad none of you could turn up. The parties went for quite some time, and the hangover lasted almost as long - haha.
Hoping your great Nation is growing well and your people are prospering. Looking forward to your response,
May the wind fill you sails on a calm day.
Paddy

I thought he knew that we were low on Horses. He should know that as we can supply some man power we are not a blood thirsty and barbaric civilization.
re: 2
What does an upcoming battle report have to do with tech trades? I appriciate that Eu and BOH are doing the heavy lifting. If we stay out of the actual fight we might be able to get techs for DR to help TNA. What are BOH and Eu's thoughts on this angle?
re: 3
yes. Make the trade.

To Paddy tonight via e-mail:
quote: Dear Great and Bloody Khan of the Horde.
My humble apologies for our silence. Prayer and study. Prayer and study. It is the Babylonian way.
I am pleased to say that Monarchy is completed. We can complete a tech deal shortly. We do ask that you not trade it on to other civs. It has been quite an investment in research and we would like to get caught up in tech.
Also - you had provided a rendevous point for the 1st Babylonian Cavalry Corps. Our horse are ariving singly, and in fact Sheridan is now 9-9-9-9 of the identified site next to the volcanoes. Sinclair is 3 tiles from that point, and Ivanova three tiles behind. Other units are produced next turn and talke the field. One horse is remaining behind to scout the western front.
So, in terms of military action, we will take our cue from you or Euphoriscan. Please advise.
In terms of tech dealing, we may want to time a trade of Monarchy to DR. If it is done, we should do it, as it would be an obvious trade if we are taking them up on their offer of co-operation. The trick is, we monitor the f3 screen, and when they fall into anarchy - we attack. They are not religious, so we have 3-6 turns with no production. If we foresee a quick and decisive strike by our three civs, this may work to our advantage. Please give the idea some thought, and feel free to discuss it with Bards. I am cc'ing McMeadows, so he will be aware of our conversation and the status of tech and military matters.
Regards from Babylon, and may the good will of Inanna bless your Great Blood Hall and all those that abide there. ....Beta of Babylon. |

Do BoH expect 1st Babylonian Battle Patrol to have four horsemen? And we only sent one. Have BoH been told?
2 Kin 24:13-14 "And Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon carried out from there all the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house, and he cut in pieces all the articles of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said. Also he carried into captivity all Jerusalem: all the captains and all the mighty men of valor, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except the poorest people of the land."
