I just want to get a vanilla game going. Doing the basic quest gets boring with me and that halfling thief.

Anyone up for a basic game? More in the Roleplaying style. I've had a go on some of the online games, but it isn't much fun when you don't know the people you are playing with.

Welcome aboard Aggie.
If your computer's quick enough to play with Jamski, then you should go to the Neverwinter Vault and download a mod that neither (Jamski) of you has played before. You can find a forgiving one I'm sure, and then at least Jam won't know exactly what is going to happen next.
By the way, if I can sort out a new house, broadband, and finish BG1 in the near future, then I'm very tempted to ask if anyone fancies going through BG2 with me on-line. I've never played it before, although I did use the style on BG1 (until it buggered up) once. One for the future maybe, unless you've all grown out of BG2.

we can play BG2 coop online?

I have that game- fancy a try in late july maybe?
my only problem is that I have... dialup.

Imagine that... in a month when I reach Deity-level- I think i'll be the only deity with dialup... ...

and I've only played BG2 for a total of 2 hours- I needed to finish BG1 first, and enjoy Icewind Dale II much better than either game- and BG2 started in the darkness... and I can't stand staring at it even with the brightness turned up

Agathon: Worth getting the x-packs anyway as the SP campaigns are much better, and then you can play in persistent worlds online, like Folderol. Playing through the campaign cooperatively is harder to coordinate I think.

What does work is downloading a random (and short enough to finish in one sitting) module and playing it cooperatively. Unfortunately most good modules require the x-packs.

Conclusion: Get the x-packs.

Well I seemed to be able to start an internet game with no problems. It would be fun to play through the campaign, although we could start at Chapter 2 if people don't want to go through Ch 1 again. I have the latest version of the game 1.66.

How about Saturday afternoons/evenings?

I suggest that we use server characters, since that will avoid hyper powers and give a better sense of progress. If we have five characters I guess that means we need a couple of fighters, a thief, a cleric/druid, and a wizard/sorcerer. If someone wants to play a monk, that is cool. If someone has to miss a session, I guess we can hire a henchman or two (that halfling thief is useful, as is the pyscho dwarf monk).

So if you're keen, then claim a character type and we can start this weekend.

Bioware are great. People with mac, windows and linux can play. Are you in Nostromo?

I'm pretty flexible. I teach Monday and Wednesday nights, but any other time is OK except Sundays (WAF issues).

Unfortunately, I can't. I can't play NWN with my integrated graphics. And because it made my PC crash all the time, I had to remove my Radeon. I have a brand new PC and I can't even play NWN.
