Weeell, that's all good and well, I'll study and we can get cranking later tonight

I just did a little planning and, indeed, my monkey can get Dev Crit by level 36. I'll need three Great Strengths, I think. He'll also end up with resistance to just about every sort of energy possible. His crappy Dex keeps him from Mobility and other goodies like that, so I'll focus on dealing huge damage.

In the Royal Catacombs, the black doodad monsters shred Verkin Arkinner but don't tear up Glurk, despite similar armor classes and soak/damage resistance (both favor Verkin if anything). They appeared to me to be the same monster or am I mistaken (as usual)?

They're different versions of the same monster, that increase in level with the PC (IIRC in a range 18th-28th) Verkin must be spawning tougher versions as he's a higher level.

Yes, I was thinking of a BG PW, or at least the same terrain with different quests for a SP game. I would be tempted to leave some of the same items in the same/similar places to BG, but also to have different ones dropped by different people.
The haste boots would have to be loads harder to come by, for example.

Erm... there's nothing stopping me from doing so. Make an OnEquipped script that applies +100% movement speed, and an OnUnequipped that removes that effect.

But right now I'm trying to script the first cutscene in BG where Gorion and the PC meet an armoured figure outside Candlekeep, and Gorion

Short answer: No.

Long answer: We can only carry skill points over because of a limitation in the NWN engine-- namely, that you can't buy half a rank of a cross-class skill like you can in PnP. (In PnP, you have to spend all your skill points once you get them.)

Well, not so fast... I'm extracting the conversations now with Infinity Explorer, and they're in the same format that NWN uses. The monster list for BG1 is pretty short, the item list is pretty short too... Ok, its a LOT of maps, but having all the material already to hand is making it a doddle so far.

I need to just force myself to get on with it.

Jam, if you can wait until 16th June (date chosen at, er, random of course. ), then send me a list of what you need and I'll give you what limited help I can offer. I'll have to load BG up again (and maybe cheat so as not to have to play all the areas again), and work on a few maps of your choosing. Although I think it would be wise if you were to give them a quick check before incorporating them into anything good.
