Yes. "Expect some troops" is not a valid information, as it doesn't say how many troops, when will they arrive and where will they attack (i.e. in RPs territory, or landing in the north). And if we said nothing, ND would still await some troops, if they see us decline their peace offer. Btw, I wonder if they offered it in-game too.

On a sidenote, I just had a trip to their forum (not the private, of course), and I noticed the newsflash in Borcs sig: "War in the colonies. Leon and Santiago have fallen". I wonder, what his sig will say, when they get their asses flogged.

IF they get their asses flogged, SR. I think we stand a chance of losing this war, and I think it might be a good idea for us all to recognize that possibility.

That being said, I find the "colonies" part amusing, and I do hope that we flatten their colonial army.

Actually, can we say nothing for now?

Words would best be said when a stack tops the rise near Pamplona. They should be polite words.

In the meantime, let them wonder. Let them wonder at what point their ansars will advance 1 tile too far and meet an army of knights and pike. Let them sweat.

Also, the GoW connection is very valid. Anything we say is going to be interpreted by ND, and they may urge or demand that GoW take action against Bilbao.

If a note must be sent for the sake of protocol, then let it be:

Well, do we answer back? Do we make it lengthy, or short? And what are we going to do tomorrow night, brain? POIT!

Part of me is saying that we need to be well-mannered and at least answer back. Another part of me is saying "shut up and let me watch football", while the former part speaks up again to remind the latter part that here in Israel we call it Soccer, and that I don't like sports anyway.
But this is so tricky...

I'd rather be a little lengthier than NYE's version.
Points to consider (IMHO) when composing the response to ND:

* We must assume that anything said to ND would be read by GoW.
* To add, we need to be consistent with what we've told GoW, since we want them as "friends" for now. If GoW sees any inconsistencies between what we tell them and what we tell ND, their ties with us would degrade and their ties with ND would strengthen.
* We have been impolite to ND when we did not respond. IMHO we need to make up for this.

Any other suggestions?

I don't think it's arrogant at all. It just discloses too much of what we're up to do. They fear we might attack them, that's obvious. I don't see why we should warn them.

I agree with Shiber... we are being insulting by not responding. Oh, and I think SR (not Frater Ralphus) should be the final editor on what we communicate, just to make absolutely sure we don;t run into any language or cultural toe-stubs.

ND's last message is garbage. We don't owe them a response IMO. They are trying to guilt us into telling them what GS is going to do, after attacking us... nice. Are they a team of manipulative, passive aggressive mothers?

Don't call. ND are our enemies. The cards have all been played. Let them sweat what GS is holding. They'll get our answer soon enough. We certainly are under no obligation to give respite to the enemy, even from a psychological standpoint.

I would add this to Nathan's note, if we choose to send it:

I'm starting to like the psychology of giving ND "the silent treatment."

If we do send a note with an apology, I'd rather keep the apology part shorter and simpler than what Shiber suggested. But I don't think we owe them an apology for needing some time to decide exactly how we want to respond to messages regarding their having attacked us.
